In the middle of a destroyed city, she stood, looking upon the hulking shadow that would encompass the world within ten days. She sighed in defeat, then turned her back on the monstrous shadow, walking away. “Are you backing down already?” A strange white cat with red eyes and long ears asked her. “It’s useless. I’m just wasting time standing around here.” She said. Soon, she touched a stone shield mounted on her wrist. She was going to try again. “ Have you ever thought about the idea of there being multiple versions of your own world? Versions that range in difference?” Two samurai, both Japanese, have their horses charge at each other, swords held out to clash for the last time. The scene fades to a similar scene, however, the samurai are now American. “ These differences range from simple changes...” A giant monster wrapped in purple armor roars out to the moonlight as the “armor” breaks off her. The scene fades to that monster engulfed in a powerful aura, creating wings of light. Up above, the sky is blood red. “ To devastating consequences...” The cat was now being chased by her, a girl with long black hair, and wearing a simple white and black uniform in the middle of a long and narrow hall way hidden somewhere in the mall. “ I have been through many versions of my world to know this. I’ve been able to use most of them to my favour. Perhaps, maybe, there’s another version of your world. Will your differences be a simple race lift? Or will the differences be apocalyptic? Perhaps you might stay the same, just that you like a different kind of food. We’re all ripples in this river known as the Multiverse... And this story is just another one of those ripples.”
A giant red pirate ship sailed across Earth's space, far enough so no one in the planet would notice it. But the ship wasn't going through a leisure trip, no, it was being attacked, several blasts hitting it repeatedly. In the ship's cockpit, a man wearing a red coat and a black undershirt, damaged from a battle, with blood seeping down his face and hands, held onto the steering wheel as the cockpit shook. "Marvelous!" A girl screamed. The man looked over to see a white cat similar to the one the girl was chasing, though now, the cat was slightly pinker in coloration. "Look!" The cat said. Marvelous approached the window, one hand still on the steering wheel and spotted a giant white space ship with two long hulls. The ship, without warning, began to fire at Marvelous' chaser, a long ship with two giant cannons in front of it in the shape of horses pulling a chariot. Marvelous ran over to the steering wheel, yelling at it. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" He asked the ship, gritting his teeth. A view screen popped up in front of him, revealing a young boy with black hair, a scar under one eye, and a straw hat. "Don't worry! I'll hold them off long enough for you to pull off that!" The kid said, grinning ear to ear. "Damn it! Of all the tricks to pull..." Marvelous muttered, looking at the wheel. "Very well. But when I am finished, get the hell out of there, okay kid?" He asked him. "Don't worry! I'll manage to get out as soon as-" The kid said, but soon his ship was shot by two blasts. "GAH!" The kid disappeared from the view screen as the room he was in shook. "Luffy!" Marvelous said out loud, his hand shaking in fear, but still holding onto the steering wheel. "Marvelous... it's been an honor serving you... please... you must fulfill your dream..." The kid said, slowly getting back up. His hat was a bit charred, but there wasn't a sign of blood. "Don't you dare say that! What about your dream?" Marvelous yelled back. "Looks like I won't be able to become the Pirate King... but you... you can fulfill yours." Luffy said, grinning one last time as an explosion suddenly filled the background until the view screen turning off, with big, red letters saying "CONNECTION LOST". "LUFFY!" Marvelous screamed as he saw Luffy's ship, intact but charred heavily, fall into the blue planet below. He gripped the wheel and clenched his teeth, getting ready for what was coming next. The enemy ship soon stopped. In its cockpit, several people were sitting in front of computers, checking and analyzing the status of both ships. One of the officers noticed something was up and turned to the ship's leader, who was enshrouded in darkness and the only thing that could be seen were two large green eyes. "Master, one ship is confirmed to be destroyed, but the other-" Just as the officer was about to finish his warning, the ship was knocked around. "What?" The leader yelled as he saw one of the ship's cannons being severed by a large pirate sword. He looked at the corner of the window and saw a giant robot, clearly made from the pirate ship and four other vehicles. " KANZEN... GOKAIOH!" Marvelous announced, now dressed in what people of the 90’s would call a Power Ranger. A red helmet with a black visor. The view screen appeared again, showing the leader's face, a magenta shaded head with black lines on his helmet. The green eyes also have those black lines. " What is this? A last stand of sorts?" He asked. "Yeah. I had enough of your smug grin and I'm making sure that it is wiped clean off!" Marvelous said. The cat soon turned around. " What... What are you saying?" Marvelous took a good look at the cat, before turning back to face the leader. "I'll see you in hell." He said, grinning as he pressed a small red button besides the steering wheel. The view screen turned off and he looked back at the cat. "Nanabey, take the Power Shards and go to an escape pod." "What about you?" "Don't worry about me! I'm not letting Luffy's death and the deaths of the other Red Pirates go in vain! The goal of fully understanding the "Power" must be achieved, even if I must pay the ultimate price! Go to that blue planet below us and spread those shards to the world!" Marvelous said. Nanabey remained silent for a few seconds, before finally nodding and running out. "So... It's come down to this..." Marvelous said as he held a tiny action figure. By pressing both sides, the bottom half folded to the top, revealing a key. He then placed the key into the wheel. " GOKAI STAR BURST!" Marvelous shouted as five panels on the robot opened up, revealing a Chest Blaster and four lines of cannon balls on its arms and legs. The cannonballs soon began to be fed into the cannon as it fired them out towards the ship, causing massive damage. In the cockpit of the enemy ship, only the leader remained, albeit heavily damaged, while everyone else in the ship was either knocked out, dead, or trying to escape. " Onore..." The leader said as he looked at a button. " ONORE KAIZOKU!" He then pressed it, causing the ship to fire a large magenta blast at the robot, creating a hole in it. The enemy ship soon blew up. In the cockpit, Marvelous smirked as the robot also blew up. Several pieces fell into the atmosphere of the Earth, including an escape pod.
ATTACK RIDE: PARACHUTE! At night, in the middle of a dump in New York, a heavily armored person, almost looking like an astronaut, slowly landed onto the ground. He raised his arm as a trio of parachutes were making his decent friendly. As the landing continued, he touched his belt, a white block with ten symbols on it. A worker at the dump saw the astronaut landing. "Hey! What the hell are you doing here?!" The worker yelled, walking over to the astronaut, before being shot by him, who was now more human-looking. He wore a black and magenta leather uniform with a white logo on his chest: a bird with its talons on a globe with the words "DCD" on it. "The Multiverse, a plane containing many worlds. People have gained the power to travel these worlds, some use these powers for good, others use it for evil. The stories of these worlds are eternally told through books, games, and shows, with those watching unaware that they truly exist. But when a select few would... they would soon take..."
A Journey Through The Multiverse: (Variant #ITT) We Are (All) Travelers
Rays of light shone through the window of a hospital room as a girl with long blonde hair looks upon the autumn tree with a boy two years younger than her. "The trees are lovely this time of year, don't you think?" The girl asked the boy. "Y-yeah." He said, blushing and hiding his emotions from her. "Nick... You..." The girl sighed. She knew her condition was eating up her friend just as it was eating her up. "You shouldn't see this as the end. Think of it as... goodbye..." She told him. "But... I... I don't want to say goodbye..." Nick muttered. "I know it must be hard for you, but... You just have to accept it. I know I have." She said. She then heard sniffling. "..." There was more sniffling coming from Nick. She sighed. "Come here..." She said, extending her arms to Nick. He went to her and cried into her shoulders. "It's alright..." She said. "I don't want to say goodbye..." He said... He would have finished it with: "My life had meaning because of you..." ... But he didn't. Because he woke up.
Nick woke up, feeling the moistness of his pillow. Another dream about her. Nick couldn't help but cry some more, but he had to get up and prepare for the day. He slowly got up. Soon, the door opened as his father, a man who, like Nick, had light brown hair but had green eyes and a shirt to match, entered. "Hey! Niiiick!" He said putting on one of the most forced smiles Nick has ever seen in his life. "So, ready to go fishing?" He asked. Nick sighed and then nodded. "Great! Your mom is out getting the car started. You know that car, always sputtering. Eheh..." He said. Nick knew something was up, but he didn't wish to comment. "In fact, let me go check up on her!" He said, leaving the room. Nick decided to look at the window to see his mom at the car. As it turned out, it seemed the car had a flat tire. His father came out to talk with his mother. The two then began to squabble about. This was going to take a while, he thought. He decided to head out and talk to them in person.
"I don't know, honey. I think we just need to talk it out..." Nick's mother said. "No, he still hasn't moved on from that day! I'm worried about him, Grace. This is the only way." Nick's father said. "I'm worried too! But I don't think this is the right way to go about it! We can't just comm-" His mom would say more, but by that time, she saw Nick going up to the car, inspecting the tire. "Trip... Trip! He's right there!" She whispered out as Nick's father noticed Nick. "Hey, Nick... Uh... what are you doing out here? We won't be going fishing for a while..." He said. Nick ignored his father and looked at the tire. He noticed something sticking out. A sharp, red jewel. As he touched it, the jewel stabbed itself into Nick. His parents could see him being lit on fire. But it wasn't the kind of fire that they'd see. It was more greenish blue. His mother screamed out for him, but Nick was far too gone now. He disappeared just as the flames died.
Nicholas woke up to see the sun reflected off the mirror and into his eyes. "Ugh... morning already?" He said. He went over and started up his computer. While it started up, he took a shower. After it started, he went on to the internet and went onto TV Tropes, reading up some of the updates in the threads. He was soon looking at some of the new topics in the On-Topic Conversations section. One of the threads was "Meteor Shower! OMG!", but Nicholas' eyes were more glued onto another: "Incubator race possibly confirmed!". He clicked on the link and looked at the info. He then scrolled down to see users joking about harassing the cat, some dismissing it as a jackal, much like the chupacabra, while only one expressed real fear for the discovery of the Incubator race. Nicholas chuckled, knowing what these things are. He then typed a response in the thread. He then giggled as he posted the response. He then looked at the time: "9:51". "Crap. I'm gonna be late." Nicholas said as he got up and got dressed in a Starbucks uniform. As he walked out of the house, he noticed something impaled onto the lawn: some form of jewel with two long metal blades attached to it. He yanked it off and looked at it. "Huh? Hm... Might make a killing in the black market." Nicholas said as he slung it over his back, unaware of what will happen.
Nicholas arrived at Starbucks. "Dude! Where the hell were you? You should have been here fifteen minutes ago! Damn it. At least I can have my smokes while you take over for me." Sam, one of his co-workers said. He then took out a pack of cigarettes. It was pretty routine of Nicholas to take over Sam's shift as soon as he arrives. He then got to the staff area and put away the odd jewel. Then went to the register to begin his job for the day. That's when he noticed the neat looking NEET typing away on the laptop. "Hey! Ginger! Guess what happened!" He said to her. The bespectacled woman with long brown hair soon turned to focus on him. "Oooh~! What happened? Was it that meteor shower?" She asked. "No! No! Something else! Three words: Real. Life. Incubator! Like in that show!" Nicholas said. "Oh. My. God! WE HAVE TO FIND HIM! Then I can become a Magical Girl! Ooooooh, the hell's gonna be my wish? Oh! GODHOOD! That always works!" Ginger said. She then noticed her computer. "Shit! Battery's going low! Excuse me, gotta charge it up." She said, taking out the charger from her backpack and unraveled the cord. She then looked for the outlet. "Jeez! Your outlet's really messed up!" She said as she noticed it destroyed by a golden shard sticking out of it. "Shit! Let me get it!" Nicholas said. Ginger put her hand up. "No. No. Let me do it." She said as she touched it. Soon, she was shocked. Not by the electricity, but by shard injecting itself. Soon, she began to have her skin fall apart like pieces of broken glass, cracks of purple light appeared over her skin as large dragon wings sprouted out of her. Soon, she too got burnt up into green flames before disappearing. "Ooooh mother of fuuuuuck..." Nicholas said, pissing himself.
The waves crashed against the ocean as a man stood on top of a lighthouse, staring at the crashed ship that has half of its hulls buried into the sand. The man looked out of place for the modern city, and instead looked like a judge with his hair, though more like an old king from his uniform, age, and overall regal look. That detail, however, was noted by the person standing next to him... Or rather, what seemed to be a person. In reality, the figure was a massive blob of darkness. The only indicator of anything other than black and dark shades of purple that looked to abstract to make shapes out of was a single red line, though too high to be considered the figure's eyes. " If you wish to take a guise, Seer, then I suggest selecting one more modern. The Britannian look only fits in the olden days." The figure said. Her voice was a calm, yet imposing feminine voice. " Well, at least I chose a guise. You, on the other hand, prefer your body be engulfed with enough Cosmic Energy to power an entire robot for 24 hours. Mind picking something that doesn't look like you want to reap the souls of the living? Like your true face?" The Seer snarked back at the figure. " ... I will only show my face in front of her. You know that." She said. " Her... I know your designation is the Past, Watcher, but you shouldn't be stuck in your own past. What done is done. Now we look to the future." Seer said. " I could say the same for you... So why has the Guardian decided that this is a good idea? Just... bringing forth people into the city like this? What is he planning?" She asked. " An interesting game, perhaps. That's what I'd do." He said, smirking. He then noticed people arriving at the beach, marveling at the crashed ship. The Watcher and the Seer looked to see which would be brave enough to explore inside. {OOC: Okay, basic directions for the intro post are as follows: begin your morning like usual, discover the shard however you want, get teleported via green fire. Where you're teleported to is your choice, so long as it's in close proximity to the city near the beach.}

She'd known the risks. She knew exactly what it would've entailed, and exactly what the eventual outcome of it would be. But even if it meant throwing away her humanity, even if it meant that her eventual fate was to either die in battle or become the kind of monster she was supposed to protect others from... Even with that in mind, she still jumped at the chance. And if giving the chance to redo what she had done... She would do it again.
Moerin had made a contract and became a magical girl.
It had been a few days since she had made the contract, and yet nothing much of note had happened. Just the same old routine, nothing out of the ordinary or unexpected. This was probably why she'd gone out, honestly; she figured that she'd have to go out and look for evil to punish and wrongs to right if she was actually serious about this whole magical girl thing. And yet, she still couldn't find anything. It was as though that whole encounter with the Incubator had just been a dream, nothing more. But...
It can't have been a dream, she thought, as she stroked the red ring on her finger. Whilst it had taken the form of a ring for the time being, that didn't stop it from being her Soul Gem. If it was a dream, then... I wouldn't have a Soul Gem. Or any of those powers...
"...Ugh, what's the deal anyways?" she said out loud. Thankfully, no-one was around to hear her frustrated cry. "If I don't find any soon, then... It'll just run out faster..." Her Soul Gem had already began to lose some of its luster. It wasn't much, but it was still something to worry about. Once it had lost its colour completely, well... That wasn't something she wanted to think about.
"...Wait, what was that?" She was sure she'd seen something. Even if it was just out of the corner of her eye, she knew she saw something strange. Chances are it was just a squirrel, or a stray cat, but she didn't want to take any chances. If the Incubators were real, that meant that Witches had to be real. And if Witches were real, it was her duty now to fight them.
...She never found out what it was. As she ran down the alley to check, she was suddenly engulfed in an emerald flame, one that covered her entire being.
"Wh-what the hell!? What... N-no, not now... Please, not... Now..." Moerin fell to her knees, shaking as her mind raced to find any explanation for this other than the worst case scenario for her. She didn't want to turn just yet. She still hadn't helped anyone. She didn't want this to have been for nothing. She didn't want this... Please, not now!
As if in answer to her, the flames finally finished their task. Where once she stood, she no longer was, and the alley was left as abandoned as it was when she entered...

Her hair was still a little damp.
However, Anno had gotten it into her ponytail without too much trouble. And it wasn't dripping, only a bit damp. Anno sat at her computer, and stretched with a yawn. She'd gotten herself dressed, as well, a fairly plain skirt and red shirt. Today was going to be a pretty quiet day, in her opinion. Which was nice. Quiet days were good days, which let her just hang out and talk to friends on the internet. Speaking of which... the computer was fully loaded, so she started to open up Google Chrome and reopen the tabs she'd had shut.
At least, until she brushed something sharp with her hand.
With a yelp, she quickly withdrew her hand, wincing. "Wh-wha? What... th-that hurt..."
Anno hadn't left anything sharp on her desk, what had stuck her like that? Whatever it was, it hurt, it hurt really horribly.
And then she was on fire.
Anno screamed. But she quickly started to realize it didn't hurt. Nor was it burning her. It was still engulfing her body terrifyingly rapidly, but it was also green and painless. Confused and frightened, Anno was about to call out again before... she vanished.
... And appeared with a thud on the ground in some place she had never seen before.
Her head was throbbing.
Ryougi Shiki had been suffering from a headache for a while, now. It showed no sign of leaving, and simply killing it was difficult due to its location. It was hard to target something inside your own head. She had put her red jacket on, but the throbbing headache had just resulted in her falling back on her bed and lying there for a moment. She didn't even want to go out on a walk. This pain in her head didn't want to go away. Rolling over, she pulled her knife from her pocket. Shiki gritted her teeth. This pain... it just wouldn't go away. Pain normally didn't bother her, but this throbbing, invasive pain in her skull...
Stab.
Her pillow was a good target.
Stab.
Stab.
Stab.
Sta-wait...
Shiki froze. The texture, the feel of the surface she'd been laying on, the thing she had been stabbing... it had changed. Grass? Dirt?
Ryougi Shiki shot to her feet, bringing her knife up to bear in an instant. She held the blade out in front of her, which glinted in the light of the sun. Around her... nothing. There was nothing around her. A beach in the distance...? Shiki's head throbbed, but now, she ignored it. Where was she? What had happened? What was responsible for this? Whatever it was, it would die. Dragging her from her home and placing her here... it would be destroyed regardless of what it was. But first, she had to find it.
Shiki's eyes flashed blue. Around her, she perceived lines, lines and points. Even the thin blades of grass had lines and points of their own. For Shiki's eyes were the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. The girl's knife glinted as she took a slow step forward, her kimono shifting as she walked. Whatever it was that had caused her transportation... it would be destroyed.

Rachel lay in bed, sleeping peacefully, having fallen asleep at some point during the afternoon despite her attempt at an all-nighter. However, her slumber was soon interrupted by the sound of glass breaking and the feeling of something hitting her, not hard enough to cause pain, but, combined with the noise, enough to wake her. Slowly blinking a few times, she eventually managed to keep her eyes open for more than a few seconds. Glancing at the alarm clock by her bed, she saw it was...something. The combination of having been woken up so abruptly and early (at least, she assumed it was early, given how dark it was) and not having her glasses on made it nigh impossible to tell what exactly the glowing numbers said. She yawned and began fumbling around in the darkness. After a minute or so and pushing assorted gaming devices, books and an empty coffee cup aside, she found her glasses. Rachel stared at the clock in disbelief for several seconds before flicking on the lights and turning her attention to the item that had woken her up. ...The hell?Shrugging, she took a closer look. It seemed to be an OOO Driver and a handful of core medals. Wondering why someone had thrown a Kamen Rider toy through her bedroom window...and why the rest of the belt wasn't there, she stretched and gathered 4the medals, careful to avoid any broken glass. Moments later, she was surrounded by green flames. Rachel screamed in horror, only to realise that despite its appearance, the fire didn't actually seem to be burning her. Soon enough, she vanished.
...And was unceremoniously dumped somewhere way too bright for this part of the day with nothing but the Driver, her glasses and... her pajamas. Were she not confused and momentarily blinded by the unexpected presence of the sun, Rachel would probably be trying to find somewhere to hide.

White threw more water on Kiuas causing heated stone to turn the thrown water into vapor and heating the room more, causing him to sweat up. The Sauna was dimly lit room, White sitting there with only a towel sligtly bent over to bear with the heat. The heat relaxed his body but he had been sitting there half hour now and decided to wash away the sweat and shower.
He walked into his own room which was dark since it was already night at his end. Smelling now with shampoo and freshness he chose clean set of clothes from his closet and picked up his necklace which had a virus capsule accessory, simply a fake. Drying his still damp hair he noticed a Hilt like object on his nightstand, placing the towel hangin on his shoulders he picked the object up.
"What in the....? This look's familiar from somewhere...Wait, is this-? Oww!Sonova-!"
He started cursing when he felt something sharp pierce deeply his right foot when he took a step, holding the object in his hand. He was suddenly engulfed by emerald flames. He quickly started to panic and failed to notice but after a short moment that the flames weren't hot and didn't burn him as the Flames light got bright and blinded him, He was no more to be seen in the room, vanished along with flames.

Meanwhile, several thousand miles away... Jon sighed as he read through the same thread, before typing out a response, reading it aloud as he did so. It was a tic he really needed to shed. In the background, his computer was playing the soundtrack to... something. There was enough music on that hard drive that he'd lost track of what was and wasn't there. Outside, the midday sun sat high in the sky. "...must be a hoax... You know what the internet is like." One quick proof-read later, and he hit send. He leaned back on the sofa and looked around the room. The College rec centre was a bit of a mess, as it usually was. To his left, the TV sat idle, flashing a “No Input” message after someone had unplugged the games console they’d brought in to use with it but forgot to turn it off. And then something caught his eye; a green glow from pool table’s ball return. Then the music player ticked over.Wait. That’s not meant to be on there. With a sigh, he stood up, unplugged his headphones, slipped the computer into his bag and slung it over one shoulder. Reaching up into the chute, he pulled out what looked like a glowing green crystal. At once, a mass of vivid green flames rose up out of the ground and seemed to swallow him.
The flames deposited him in an alleyway somewhere. And about three feet off the ground. He dropped with a thump, and picked himself up off the floor, just in time to feel the sharp pain in his hand and see the blood running down it. Dammit. And then the crystal, its green surface now tainted with carmine red, seemed to propel itself into the wound. “What the hell?” He managed to blurt out before it was gone, and the wound healed itself almost instantly, leaving only the trails of blood to prove it was ever there.

Another day of non-stop forum browsing, failed writing and random game-playing made up the entirety of Saxen's riveting life.
Not that he was really vying for change, though. It was a comfortable lifestyle, and that was all he needed. Well, that and games. And anime. And internet. With the only sounds being the clicking of his mouse, there was nothing to disturb the forum lurker. At least, not until he started his wardrobe for a USB cable. He really needed to stop bundling those unused wires in there, it was a nightmare trying to extract anything...
Trying to sift through the endless clump of cables, Saxen spotted an item most unusual - some weird... shiny thing. It most certainly didn't belong there. Picking it up, he barely had time to glance at the thing before he erupted into flame.
He yelled loudly, stumbling back and beating at his chest in an attempt to save his very much safe life, not having registered the fact he wasn't being burned alive. He fell to the ground, rolling around madly until he finally did notice. And that he wasn't on his bedroom floor. He slowly raised his head, seeing that he was somewhere else. With a group of strangers. He... had no words. Instead, he lay there dumbly, watching everyone with confusion and fear.
------------------
Noel was very, very relaxed despite her assignment.
Sure, searching for an AWOL major was a bit of a big deal, and Noel was very worried about Major Kisaragi... but but this seat of her transport was just so comfy! And she hadn't been getting all the sleep she wanted lately, so it was kind of inevitable that she would fall to slumber. And she could always read the report once she woke up, right?
Well, she hadn't expected to fall while sitting.
With a startled grunt, the off-guard lieutenant opened her eyes in confusion, noting her new location with a great deal of confusion. Was this a dream? Well, obviously so, but this rising feeling of panic and anxiety seemed a tad realistic... weird.

Rain had decided to go and buy a drink. This was a simple task, needing no fancy dressing up or paraphernalia to accomplish, but with her hat and sunglasses just sitting on the desk... why not grab them? Since she owned them, she may as well use the things. That decided, Rain grabbed her money and went to buy the drink.
It was on the way back that something caught her eye, a glint on the road. Without her glasses proper, it was impossible to tell if it was a coin or what, so she knelt down to look, picking it up... and finding herself engulfed by green flame. Seriously, what the hell? She went to buy a drink and burned to death?
This just wasn't fair.
Reisen sighed, looking at the battle taking place just outside of Eientei. The princess's friend had come around today... and a fight had broken out almost immediately, with a steadily growing fire hazard. They didn't even have a spring to heat up this time around, so there was no use for all the fire.
Then she disappeared. At least she had her jacket on, to present a good first impression.

Aww, I missed the meteor shower...
Sam was flipping through one of the threads on Tv Tropes, reading about a Meteor Shower that happened the night before.
Sighing, she moved to the next thread: something about the discovery of Incubators.
Probably some prank... Sam thought, reading the first post of the thread.
...How do you even get that kind of information from the CIA? She continued scrolling down the thread until she reached the last post. It read:
In an attempt to be silly, Sam posted:
It probably would end up just irritating a few people, but whatever.
Suddenly, something bounced off her window, making a loud plink sound. Huh? Sam thought, getting up out of her seat. She waled over to the window and opened it, noticing a blue crystal lying on the windowsill. Sam picked up the gem, holding it up to the light.
Then, the crystal exploded.
"Holy-!" Sam shouted, but her words were cut off as she vanished, green flame surrounding her.

August was out taking a walk, dressed in a long black jacket because he was cold today and wearing gloves to lessen the blistering that came with focusing most of your weight on a cane handle. It wasn't something he liked to do and even with a cane supporting him it was tiring and sometimes painful, but he needed to do it every so often to keep his legs from atrophying too much and right now he was trying to use the time to think in between the occasional slip on the sidewalk dragging him back to reality. He spent a lot of time these days in his own mind mainly because it was preferable to spending it in his own body. Still, he was living and walking and it was a pretty nice day out, so when he was capable of thinking about something other than walking along and daydreaming he had to admit life wasn't all that bad. More than anything it had been painfully repetitive and boring lately.
Luckily for him, things suddenly became painfully new and exciting instead, mainly because a crystal fell out of the sky and impaled him through the top of the head. As he collapsed on the ground still gripping the cane, his thoughts mostly consisted of 'Well damn, I really liked this jacket and now there's blood and stuff all over it. Oh wait, it's stain resistant so it'll probably wash out. followed shortly thereafter by 'Wait, i'm dead right? so it won't matter if the jacket gets cleaned. I mean, dying wasn't exactly on my to do list today but you'd think i'd have died of something other than acute 'big sharp thingy to the head' disease given my lifestyle...how am I still thinking any-OHSWEETBALLSI'MON FIRE! I got stabbed inna head and now i'm on green freaking fire!
and then he passed out from shock and disappeared shortly afterward.

It had been a normal day at first: wake up, go to campus, work, come back home. On her way back though, something literally crashed into her life. She couldn't remember exactly what happened because she was looking in the opposite direction, but something metallic and heavy had smashed into her back- flinging her through the air. While airborne, the girl could only dimly thought, "How is this possible?" She didn't feel the landing.
"Oi... This isn't funny..." A whisper rang out as its speaker looked up at the blue dome that covered her vision. Already, the blackness began creeping upon her. It was a struggle just to stay awake, for the prospect of sleep was frightening. How had it come to this? "I... don't want this..." The body was unresponsive, painfully reminding the mind and soul of its frailty.
At that moment, a wine red Chess piece appeared in the very center of Grey's vision- that of a pawn's. She knew exactly what the object represented. A new life. Forcing her deadened limbs to move, the student gave off a grim smile as her arm jerked slightly. "I shall accept." With that, the Pawn piece flew towards her open palm and integrated into the flesh without a trace. "Hell... Here I come."
When authorities finally reached the sight of the accident, the victim was gone. Moments before their arrival, the green fires had consumed the reborn frame without a trace.

Flanker, Scotland
Flanker stared at the monitor on his desk. He had been browsing the latest posts on TV Tropes (occasionally checking his thread watchlist) when a particular thread caught his eye: "Incubator race possibly confirmed!". He had felt a twinge of disappointment when he saw the thread about the meteor shower, but had quickly brushed it aside - in Scotland the night sky was rarely clear enough to see that sort of thing (either that or you had to get up at an ungodly hour, which he was not prepared to do). He clicked the thread about the Incubators and read through it, growing more and more sceptical by the second. "Really?" he muttered to nobody in particular.
Clicking the "Add Post" button, he wrote:
Posting the comment, he then listened to One Last Time by The Megas. The song always managed to make him relax, and this time was no exception. As Flanker leaned back in his chair, something rather unexpected happened.
To be specific, a bright green shard of crystal shot through the ceiling of his room and bounced on his desk, causing the college student to fall backwards in shock. He hauled his chair back up and sat on it in time to see the shard skidding to a stop near the joystick on his desk. "What the hell...?" Flanker hadn't heard the shard's arrival - in fact, the first indication he had gotten of its' presence was the crystal falling on to his desk.
Picking up the crystal, Flanker followed the approximate trajectory it had taken. There was a neat, perfectly circular hole in the ceiling. Before he had an opportunity to ponder this particular fact, a scabbard came crashing through the roof. This time, however, Flanker was prepared (or at least as prepared as you can be when random junk is falling into your room at high velocity). Ducking, he watched as the scabbard bounced off the edge of his desk... and smacked him in the face, causing him to flinch in pain and fall backwards yet again.
Worse, the crystal took this opportunity to jab itself into the palm of his right hand, causing the teen to curse very loudly. Except, of course, he was cut short as something caused him to catch fire. Not just fire, but green fire at that. Flanker couldn't care why he was on fire, or why it didn't seem to be hurting or burning anything. The simple fact that he was on fire caused his heart to leap into his throat as he desperately tried to put out the flames. I never imagined I'd die from spontaneous combustion... was the last thought that entered his mind before he quite abruptly disappeared.
Meanwhile, the song began to wind down.
And now it's up to me,/To go and make history,/And change my destiny,/One last time!
One last time...
The next thing he knew, he had collapsed hard on the pavement, his bones aching from the jarring impact. The pain in his hand flared in protest. Flanker was disoriented, his vision swimming slightly. Grasping for something to use as a point of reference, Flanker's eyes focused on what was immediately in front of him - the scabbard.
It was rather unusual in that it appeared to contain two blades - one in either side. Though it was hard to make out much, both had brown hilts and golden pommels (which were roughly lozenge shaped) and crossguards, the rest being concealed in the scabbard. The scabbard had somehow landed on one of the pommels and was now spinning in a lazy pirouette. As if to spite the teen, it came to a dead stop and fell on to his head, making it throb.
The blow seemed to bring Flanker back to the present, however, as he noticed the deafening silence around him. Clawing at the rough, sandpaper-like surface, he scrambled to his feet and looked around. His face blanched as he took in the impossible scene. Was he hallucinating? Did he have a concussion?
Oh crap. Flanker tried to override the feeling of fear rising in him, and tried to recall half-remembered techniques for getting his bearings. He started to wish that his sense of direction was better than it had been; as it was, all he could tell was he was in a city, and a beach was nearby, if the sound of hissing waves was any indication. Was he still in Scotland? He sure hoped so. There was a city near where he lived, after all, though it was never this quiet, even on a Sunday. "H-hello? Anybody out there?" He spoke with less confidence than he would have liked, his voice wavering. He decided to strike out and find out just where the hell he was.
He hoped to hell that he'd find someone soon who could tell him what was happening and why. In his rush to get moving, he almost forgot the scabbard - feeling foolish even as he did so, he clutched the weapons tightly against his chest like a lost child with a teddy bear, as though it might ward off anything or anyone wishing him ill intent. His body felt as though it was tingling slightly, but much to Flanker's relief he was no longer on fire. That at least was a good start in his book.
Emile
Emile's eyes snapped open as he regained consciousness, and though he could only see an unfamiliar sky and city he was immediately reassured by the far more familiar HUD symbology that signified he still had his MJOLNIR powered armour on. A quick glance confirmed his MJOLNIR's shields were fully charged, and that his vitals were fine. Another part of the HUD told Emile that he currently had his shotgun and a grenade launcher, both fully loaded. He paused, however, as he noticed that neither Carter nor Noble Six's IFF tags were visible. In fact, he seemed to have lost contact with Auntie Dot.
That could mean a lot of things, though two possibilities came to mind immediately: 1. Auntie Dot had been shut down or otherwise compromised, and his fellow SPARTANs had become separated from him, or 2. he was no longer on Reach. The fact that there were no contacts on his motion sensor seemed to support the latter theory (for now, anyway), as if there were UNSC or Covvies nearby they would have made their presence loudly known by now and the MJOLNIR would have picked it up immediately.
This was further reinforced by the unfamiliar - and strange - surroundings. Rising on to his feet in one steady motion, the SPARTAN stretched slightly and began walking. Emile grimaced as he noticed that there was apparently nobody nearby. Had this city already been evacuated by the UNSC? Or, worse, had it been compromised by the Covenant? That didn't seem likely at all - the city would have been much more chewed up if those goddamn aliens had come to town. So just what had happened here? The question was chewing away at him, but an immediate objective occured to the SPARTAN: find out where he was, and, if necessary, where friendly positions were located. His kukri and other weapons made the super soldier confident that if there were any Covvies looking to ruin his day, they would have another thing coming. Hopefully Carter and Noble Six could meet up with him so that they could make sense of this mess.
Every footstep seemed almost painfully loud, and Emile was all too aware that he was sticking out like a sore thumb as he strode through the streets. He was just asking to get ambushed. He didn't know where he was going, and that sharpened his awareness farther. Wherever he was, though, it was a shoreline location. Emile wasn't sure how to feel about that.

Perrin was rather unhappy. He had been riding home, minding his own business, when his bike hit a rock or something and he lost control.
Kneeling down to look at the damage, he gritted his teeth. The "rock" was apparently actually some sort of crystal shard sharp enough to go through his wheel.
Grumbling, Perrin tried to grab the crystal, only to yelp in surprise as it cut his hand. Suddenly, as if somehow drawn to his wound, the shard freed itself from his bike's wheel and impaled itself in his hand.
Perrin's surprise turned to terror, as his body was enveloped in green fire, and he screamed until he and the fire were both gone.
Perrin looked around, surprised yet again, this time by the fact that he was not on fire, unharmed, and was in a place he had never been before.

As Nick's eyes opened up, he was harshly kicked by someone. Was it the effects of the shard kicking in? He struggled to see who was kicking him... if anything was kicking him. He noticed someone though. Someone who was kicking him. It was a man, Asian it seems, with a beard and short black hair. He was wearing a red leather jacket. " Ah! You're up! Tell me, where the hell is the Wiseman? Wait... why the hell am I asking you? I should be glad I'm away from that douche. Now I get to do what I want, when I want!" The man chuckled as he began to kick him some more. Was this some sort of nightmare? He hoped it was. It was better than being committed for a lengthy grieving. He then began to whimper. The man growled, lifting Nick by the collar. " HEY! I need a good punching bag! So be a nice little boy and TAKE IT!" He said, punching Nick in the stomach. Though the man then felt something. Some of the kid's pain was reflecting off of him. While it was pretty soft on him, but it started to hurt. He experimented with this by punching Nick in the gut some more. Like clockwork, that pain was felt by the man as well. " Tch... The hell happened?" He stopped beating on Nick and began to wonder what happened. He messaged his chin to think of it... He then remembered.
" THE HELL! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME!" The man said as he was held down by several masked men in skeletal style black uniforms. He was staring at the man in the magenta leather jacket, who pointed a black gun at his chest. " You're lucky to be the first subject for this experiment... This will tickle a bit." The man said as he fired.
" Of course... That double-crossing bastard. Kid, you're lucky. I just realized I have another guy to beat the living crap outta. That, and I can't really beat you up, since I'm technically beating myself up." He said. Nick was scared, his lips wavering. " Tell ya what, if you help me find the punk that shot me and had me fused to a wimp like you, I promise not to hurt you further." He said. Nick breathed for a bit, then nodded reluctantly. He then put his hand forward. "My... My name... name's Nick..." He said. The man pushed the hand away. " Most people call me Phoenix." He said. He then turned around. " Now, off we go." He said, walking out of the alleyway. Nick followed him, only to bump into a girl. He looked to who it was. "Hey! Watch where you're going!" Ginger said to Nick. "S-sorry!" Nick said, bowing to her. "Meh, it's okay... Just a little scared... and excited at the same time. I nearly turned into a dragon! That was awesome! I knew poking my finger with that shard was a good idea!" She said. "Wait... shard? You mean... I poked myself with a shard too!" Nick said. "Huh? You did? Ooooh! Did you get any cool powers!?" She asked, getting very close to Nick, to the point where he blushed in embarrassment, especially since he's inches away from being smothered in her breasts. "Uh... I... Don't know... I had someone beat the crap out of me though... Phoenix!" Nick called out to Phoenix. "Phoenix? Who's Phoenix?" She asked, getting off of Nick and begun looking around. Nick looked around too. Phoenix seemed to be gone. "He... He's more of a dick than a friend, but he said if I help him find someone, he won't beat me up." He said to her. "Huh, you have a pretty dangerous friend there. Well, I'm a long way from home it seems, so I guess I can help... Or at least until I sprout those dragon wings again. Man, that was epic... Oh! Sorry, the name's Ginger." She said, putting her hand forward. "Nick." He said, shaking her hand. "So... which way?" Ginger said. "I... don't know." He said, looking around. He then saw a smoke cloud from afar. "We can try there!" Nick said as he ran to it. Ginger followed him.
The man in the leather black uniform soon approached a Starbucks, his hands on a GPS and seeing a blinking red dot. He looks at the store and heard a few gunshots. He went in.
Nicholas was on the ground, writhing in pain with two bullet holes in his chest as blood began to pour out. The thug turned around to see the man in the uniform. "Hey, outta da way, buddy!" He said, holding up the gun at him. "Tch." The man said, walking towards him. The thug began to shoot, but the gun was knocked away by the man. With one swift chop to the neck, the thug was dispatched. He then sees Nicholas bleeding out, but proceeds to where the red was flashing. He soon reached the staff room and saw the jewel. "So... that's where it is." He said, approaching it. He grabbed it and on his way out, he looked at Nicholas again, who was now near death. He rolled his eyes and grabbed Nicholas. Punching a few buttons on the GPS, he and Nicholas went into a gray mosaic wall and faded away.
Inside the ship, several computer panels activated in a bright blue. The Computer Screen soon read: " Located several High-Powered Individuals. Teleporting..." " And soon, everyone that has been teleported away, in a large blue beam of light, into the town were now brought into the main dock of the ship. Both Ginger and Nick were looking around, wondering what the hell they stumbled into. Soon, the main screen turned on. " Individuals teleported. Scan complete. Welcome to the Nadesico. My name is the Navigational, Artificial, and Virtual Intelligence, or NAVI for short." NAVI said. "Woah! A computer!" Nick said in wonder. " You have been selected because of the high power levels I have detected inside of you, or in most of your cases, a Shard has been embedded into you." NAVI said. "A... Shard?" Ginger asked. " Yes. Shards. Crystallized DNA of fighters through out multiple worlds. For example, you carry the Shard of Souma Haruto, The Ringed Magician." NAVI said. As soon as she said that, Nick saw Phoenix. " The Ringed Magician!? Scratch that Dickhead jerk, I want to have scraps on that Wizard!" Phoenix said. Soon, Nick moved his arms against his control... and attempted to strike Ginger. Soon, tasers emerged from the computer panels and shocked Nick. " This individual is confirmed to carry a Phantom inside of him, the enemies of the Ringed Magician. And it seems that he is suffering from Orton Syndrome, a side effect of the Shard that causes the individual to hear the voices of the fighter in the Shard, and could possibly be possessed or even turn into them... However, these are a case by case basis. In some cases, there's no side effect from the Shard." NAVI said. Nick then got up. "The hell... What the hell is going on?" Nick said. " Observing the fighting footage, this ship has been put into heavy critical damage, and will take a while to repair." NAVI said. "Wait... this is a space ship?" Ginger asked. " Yes. This ship is able to cross many stars and many planets. It can actually cross the universe and travel into other universes, allowing for something called Multiversal Travel to occur. When this ship is fully repaired, this ship will take off and go on a Multiversal Trip back to the world where it is built, where it will stay until a new crew can be selected." NAVI said. "... I dunno... Wouldn't we count as a crew? I mean, there's so many of us." Ginger asked. " Negative. You are all just people who came into the scene. A crew consists of people who have joined up with the Red Pirates, a group of people destined to research the secrets of The Power, a magical source of energy that embodies all of humanity and provides them with the magic and power needed to fight. This ship's former captain, Monkey D. Luffy, is dead, and the rest of the Red Pirates are either missing in action, or killed as well." NAVI said. "L... Luffy... dead? What the hell happened?" Ginger asked. " Monkey D. Luffy engaged battle with the Dai-Shocker flagship, the Gigant Horse, to buy Captain Marvelous time to form Gokai-Oh. This ship has been damaged because of it." NAVI said. Ginger was overloaded with so much. Dai-Shocker? Gokaiger? This was so Nicholas' turf! A shame he wasn't here. " As the crew is defeated, I am left with two options: Option 1 is to go back and hope that the Red Pirates have regrouped enough to occupy this ship... Or Option 2: If anyone is daring to risk it... step forth and declare yourself Captain of this vessel. For if the Red Pirates are truly dead, then this ship is with no master." NAVI said.

As if the universe was trying to prove the AI's statements about there being no side effects to the shards to be wrong, a blinding pain caused Jon to double over, as a blinding pain ripped through his abdominal region. A painful feeling that felt a lot like something was rearranging his internal organs.
"What... what's happening?"
He looked at his hands, just in time to see them slim down. Anyone watching would see things like his facial features starting to soften, and his hair grow out. Below his clothes, the proportions of his body started to change as well, as his shoulders seemed to collapse and his hips expanded, along with his chest, which caused his T-shirt to ride up a bit exposing a much thinner waist.
And then, with a quiet sucking noise and a pop from between... her legs, she collapsed to the floor, still groaning quietly from the pain, although this might have been as much to do with faceplanting into the floor as the whole "getting reshaped" thing. At the same time, a rather ornate gold and green pen appeared in her hand.

"I vote that we make captain a ceremonial, democratically elected position," Rain said, speaking up before anyone got the chance and completely failing to realise the heavy, faintly glowing book that was now rested in one of her arms, "I refuse to take orders from anyone that hasn't got some evidence they're worth listening to. Meritocracy, I think?"
It was good to be at the front, in the suit-wearing girl's opinion. She was short, and everyone else... well, wasn't. Or, at least, not under-five-feet-tall short, which she was. At the back of the group, there was little chance that anyone would have noticed her, but right at the front of the crowd...
Unfortunately, this meant that everyone could see the doll cheerily sat on her head, whilst Rain herself... well, had no idea it was there. That might be somewhat damaging to her credibility.
Reisen kept quiet, trying to work out the chances that they were going to head to the moon and that she would be unconscious for whole weeks after getting back home. With the constant tendency of human spacecraft to head to that one place and her master's excessive punishments, both were near certain. Maybe she could lie low and spend her time gathering gifts to take back home? That would be the safe thing to do.
The moon rabbit had the exact opposite problem as Rain: she was almost too tall, being slender to start with, tall atop that, and possessing ears that just made her all the taller. At least she was at the back of the group.

Anno stared ahead, blankly, at what was occurring before her. Of course, she now had a good idea of what was happening. At the same time, well... there was a big group of people, for one thing. Some she didn't recognize and others appearing to be Reisen. Or Noel Vermillion. Or... Ryougi Shiki?! This... this was too surreal. Was it real? Anno didn't think she was asleep, she was pretty certain he had woke up. But now she had been taken to help someone do something and there was a space ship and random characters she recognized and this was just unreal...
When a girl near the front on the crowd spoke up, seeming to take this much more well then Anno was, Anno managed to stammer out her own comment. "W-wouldn't... wouldn't want a captain who didn't know what th-they were doing... u-um..."
Anno hugged herself. The surrealness of the situation, the crowd... it was getting to her. Also the weird noises she had heard nearby, though she wasn't really sure what had happened to the person. She could hear someone groaning in pain... Wait... was... that a doll on the short girl's head in front of her? Anno felt she was short, but... this girl was shorter... and had a doll on her head?
Shiki's knife gleamed in the light. Her head twinged, and she didn't lower the blade even throughout the explanation she was given. While she was surprised, the situation did not seem impossible to her. Alien, perhaps, unusual, but not outside the realm of possibility given what she had experienced. Slowly, she lowered her knife. The blue faded from her eyes. She was still angry. Angry that they had pulled her away, and the headache just made her more irritable. But she was aware that destroying the thing that got her here meant it would be difficult to return unless an alternative method of travel was found.
Her knife gleamed at her side, as she tucked a free hand into one pocket. When she spoke, her tone was slightly strained. Ryougi Shiki was not in a good mood.
"I don't care about this," she said, plainly, "And I'm not about to listen to any of these people."
And in one statement, her feelings on the situation had been summarized.

White listened carefully AI's explanation on shards and ships history. While he was teleported to ship, his clothes had changed along the way. into a robe like outfit with black and red colors, strangely there was a perfect spot for the metallic hilt to be placed. He scoffed when he heard political terms coming from the mouth of girl with doll on top of her head.
"I have to agree with her in that one." White said nodding toward direction of the stammering girl. "Since you can tell what shard each one of us possesses... can you find anybody in this group who possesses a shard with knowledge about being a captain and flying a space ship?"

Saxen merely stood dumbly, unable to follow the stuff that had happened too quickly. They were now somewhere else and choosing a captain or something? And... shards? What?
...And why did he recognise that bunny girl? Was she a cosplayer or something?
Noel was also struggling to keep up, and while she was quite shaken by everything that had happened in the last two minutes, she was still a lieutenant. As far as she could tell, there wasn't any other officer around...
"Um... uh..." Noel murmured quietly. "C-could we, uh..."
She was having a little trouble taking charge, however.

Sam looked around at the ruins of the ship.
"None of you would happen to know how to repair an interdimensional space ship, right?"

Flanker
One moment he had been walking, and the next he had been rather rudely plucked from his new location to somewhere else entirely. It almost looked like a film set for a sci-fi setting... until he realised there were other people there. He didn't recognise a single one of the vast majority of the people here, though some of them were somewhat more familiar (Reisen, Noel)... and there was one he definitely recognised - Emile. He had no idea why these (surprisingly good) cosplayers had been selected along with him and everyone else, or what the hell this "NAVI" was waffling on about. Was this some sort of crazy game show?
If it was, they were going all out on the special effects budget, at least if Jon's sudden change was any indication. It certainly sounded like he was in pain. Clearing his throat, he asked, "Uh... are you okay?"
Figuring that it might take a while for the poor soul to respond, the teen gently massaged his head as he tried to puzzle out the truly gargantuan amount of information that had just been dumped into everyone's laps. "Wait, so you're effectively telling us that the concept of a multiverse is true, that what we consider 'fictional' characters are real, and that this is a spaceship? I'm tempted to think that this is all some elaborate prank... or a dream. The alternative is just too huge to consider." As if to test this theory, he pinched himself through the fabric of his hoodie (a manoeuvre rendered awkward by the scabbard he still had wrapped tight in his arms). Unexpectedly, he felt a sharp sting of pain rather than nothing at all. He breathed in sharply. Please be a prank, please be a prank...
"Okay, so let me humour you for a second then," he continued, a definite sense of unease pervading his words. "First off, why us? I bet you anything the majority of us don't know much about fighting, much less superpowers. And who out of all of us would possibly know how to fly a spaceship?! I might know how to fly a plane, but that's child's play compared to something like this... and why do you need us? Is it to fight this 'Dai-Shocker' group?"
If all of this was true, he just knew this would be complete suicide. What could a bunch of inexperienced rookies do? It made for good films, sure, but this was reality. Deciding to ignore the question of captaincy for now, he said, "....How long will it take you to make the repairs?" Knowing how complex this sort of machinery usually was, it'd probably take months. Then again, it wasn't like he had flown the damn thing, so maybe it'd be as easy as flipping a switch.
Emile
The SPARTAN's first thought was that, perhaps, he had been on the receiving end of some sort of new Covenant technology. However, they probably would have wanted to vapourise him rather than teleport him right into the middle of their ship... but the point was rendered moot as soon as Emile got his bearings. It didn't look like any Covenant ship he had seen, and though it was (vaguely) closer to human designs, it wasn't like any UNSC ship he had seen. The cluster of civilians and... others didn't make things any easier. At a loss as to what to do, his MJOLNIR's IFF simply identified everyone as unknown/friendly contacts.
He waited until everyone had finished speaking (casually looking over his beloved kukri to make sure it was in good condition) before chipping in with, "She's got the right idea. I'm going to stick with my own chain of command, and I'm not about to take orders from some damn civilians." The last thing he needed was to have some clueless civvie bossing him about and getting everyone killed. He was a SPARTAN, not some glorified security guard!

Right, so I've been teleported to the Nadesico (with a weird AI that doesn't seem to be Omoikane) and it's talking about Dai-Shocker, Luffy and Captain Marvelous? This has to be a weird dream, right?
To test the theory, which she hoped was right, the brunette pinched herself...and immediately winced in pain. As her thoughts were about to turn to getting out of there and finding somewhere to hide or get something to wear that wasn't her pajamas, she noticed what was happening to Jon.
She stared, speechless, as the transformation occured. This was impossible, things like this couldn't actually happen. Then again, she had previously thought teleportation couldn't happen either. Once it was done, Rachel hesitantly approached and knelt down beside the new girl and offered a hand to help her up. "Um, a-are you okay?" She asked. It was a stupid question, but she wasn't exactly sure what else to say with all the weirdness going on.

The girl took the offered hand and stood up with another groan.
"Um... No, I don't think I am."
She looked around at everyone else and at the pen in her hand.
"What is all this, anyway?"

"Does anyone of us know how to pilot something like this?" Grey sat up groggily after hearing the suggestion, not noticing how much blood she was laying in until she looked at her hands. It was like a scene from a horror movie, the girl was literally in a pool of her own blood. "Oof..." Clenching first one hand then the other, she started playing around with her arms then legs, finding them in working order. Her broken bones had been reset too, as well as any other internal or external injury.
Clambering up to her feet and swaying for a bit, the young woman glanced down at her shirt with a grimace. "I'm gonna need something new to wear soon. I liked that shirt." Outwardly calm, the reincarnated Devil's inner thoughts betrayed her seemingly cool reaction. It buzzed around like a swarm of bees, the emotions she was feeling: disbelief, shock, sadness, relief, and so forth.

August was the next to sit up, and was likewise covered in and sitting in a large amount of blood, so much so that it almost entirely concealed the color of his skin, hair and clothing. The main exception to this was his grey and black long-coat which even now just seemed to have the blood that touched on it running off of it in tiny drops and rivulets.
From his seat in the pool of blood August half-stood half-tossed himself up into a standing position then looked around and listened like a first-time tourist taking in a particularly strange and exotic sight, which in a sense he might have been. After a while of this he grinned from ear-to-ear and thrust his arms up and out theatrically as if taking all of the world in again at once and introducing himself to it at the same time.
"So, this is my afterlife I take it!? A cast of pretty girls and decent enough seeming guys diverse enough to hopefully pass a Bechdel test, characters from all sorts of places familiar and weird to round out the party and to top it off a multiverse-spanning conflict over a mysterious power starting off aboard one of my favorite spaceships of all time! I think I'm gonna enjoy this ride."
The jacketed boy didn't seem to care if it was strange that he was covered head-to-toe in blood and talking to himself. That he had noticed another person there was also similarly covered in blood might have helped this. Unfortunately, in the midst of all his talking to himself and grand gesturing he slipped in the blood puddle and face-planted on the floor, eventually reduced to slipping and twitching helplessly

Perrin, having gotten up at some point, was now staring at the two blood covered individuals, his notice of the robot and the small woman with a stuffed animal taking a backseat to the blood soaked people.
"...A-are you two okay?!" He said, adjusting his glasses as he moved closer.

Sam looked around at the two people who were completely drenched in blood.
"....I think I'm gonna go....and find a hospital." Sam said walking away, a stunned expression on her face.

"Scan confirms that this subject has the Shard of Makoto Kino, better known as Sailor Jupiter." NAVI said, showing no sign of shock or concern for Jon, or even the fact that he just became a she. Nick struggled to see Jon. If Jon was on the floor, he'd be seeing eye to eye with Nick. Nick then struggled to get up and offered Jon his hand. Soon, he noticed Jon getting up, now a girl. Nick gulped as he looked into his... erm... her eyes. He couldn't believe what he just say. Rain and Anno then spoke their piece.
"Agreed. A Captain would have to prove his worth. But I doubt sitting around and voting for someone will benefit anything. If you desire a captain who knows what they're doing, then wouldn't it be better for the captain to be determined through action rather than through debate?" NAVI said. But soon, White asked it to scan and analyze who'd be fit to be a captain.
"That can work, though I am only able to recommend someone if you wish to go about electing a captain. I shall scan the room." NAVI said. Soon, a flash of blue light filled the room. Text appeared, chipping away some data in a fast pace. A soft ping was then heard. "The following people have been scanned and confirmed to carry captaining/leader knowledge and/or ship piloting. At best, they carry knowledge of military combat. Referred to by their Shard Name and/or name from the databanks: Darth Revan," Navi said, as a red light shined over White. "Reisen Udongein Inaba," A red light then shown over Reisen. "Emile-A239," A red light shown over Emile. "And lastly Noel Vermillion." A light shown over Noel. "Connie is also an option, though. A light shown over Connie.
"These people are my top four picks for Captaining me and the Nadesico, but I am not to decide who will do it. In fact, there are those who don't wish to be led, and that I would respect. You may feel free to leave this vessel if you so wish, but I shall remind you that, as far as I know, this may be your only chance to go back home, but even then I can't guarantee it." NAVI lightly put to those who stated their disdain. He then answered Star's question.
"This ship shall self repair itself, though the repairing process will be a while before it's completed. Estimations equate to an hour on an optimistic view. Five hours at most." NAVI said. She then answered Flanker's question.
"Yes. The stories you have read, played, watched, and listened too are indeed real. The paths of the "what ifs", "should haves", and "if onlys" also exist to be taken. These paths, the ones you perceived as fictional, are indeed real. That is the truth of the Multiverse. If you can accept any of that, you are ready to be a Traveler, one who passes through from world to world. As for why you... I have stated before. You all have been touched with extraordinary powers. You all are currently holding these powers in your hands. For those of you with shards, chances are the DNA inside the shards will come with instructions on how to fight. There was one other person that I have detected, but his life signals seemed to have snuffed out by the time I executed the mass teleportation command. A shame too. It seemed to carry the powers of Ultraman Zero, son of the great Ultra Seven." NAVI said.
"Sorry... but why did you use that command?" Ginger asked.
"Two reasons. One: You were all mass teleported before, near my location at that, and so I knew this was by no coincidence. I had to teleport you all. The second reason: I fear that if I didn't teleport you... he'd get to you." NAVI said.
"Who?" Ginger asked.
"When I scanned the deceased life form, I noticed another life form approaching Ultraman Zero's power source... The leader of Dai-Shocker himself... Kadoya Tsukasa." NAVI said.
Nicholas woke up in a rusty lab. "Huh?! What happened?" Nicholas muttered. He then heard some footsteps. He turned to see the man in the uniform.
"You are lucky to be breathing." The man said. Nicholas shook his head.
"... Am I dreaming?" He said, recognizing the man.
"Oh, how I wish you were. But no. You're life is saved by me." He said.
"How? I-" Nicholas then looked at his chest, which had a large blue gem on it. "OH GOD!" He jumped off the operating table.
"Calm down. That is the Color Timer. Your new heart. Your old one stopped beating over an hour ago." The man said.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?" He got up and got in front of him.
"As I stated. You're lucky to be living." He said. "In return, you are to join Dai-Shocker." He said.
"Dai-Shocker? Now I know I'm dreaming!" Nicholas said as he began to throw a punch. However, the man blocked it.
"Remember this! I gave you life, I can easily destroy it!" The man said.
"Shut up, Tsukasa! This is obviously some prank!" He said. The man looked surprised.
"How do you know my name? Am I that infamous in your world?" He said to him.
"... No. But... You're from a show and-" Nicholas said.
"A show? Heh... That's fun." Tsukasa said. Suddenly, he heard a beep. He went to his GPS and looked at it. "Hm... so, it's still functional? Guess Dai-Shocker won't die with me..." Tsukasa said. He then pressed a few more buttons.
Somewhere, a man wearing a beret, a white shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes was running from a crowd of angry Japanese peasants as he held a bag of money. "Haha! NOW HYDRUS!" He said to no one. Soon, the man flew up into the air as the group stopped and looked at the now flying man. As he landed on the roof of a far-off temple, he smirked. He had light yellow eyes and short black hair with a long grey streak with the tip being dyed green on it. However, that faded as his eyes returned to being light blue and his hair being all black. "Good work, boys. We managed to get a bit richer!" He said, again, to no one.
He then heard buzzing. The man then took out a small iPhone like device and held it to his hear. "Hey! You reached Brolli!" He said.
"Colonel Diamondback, it's me. I've crash landed in some strange world and have just recruited someone. I'm giving you the coordinates now, and I expect you to be here now." Tsukasa's voice said on the phone.
"Well, I just finished up a heist, so I guess I can help out. Alright, I'll see you soon!" Brolli said as he pressed on a button. Soon, a large grey wall came and took Brolli away. Meanwhile, a man standing on the opposite end of the tower only stared. He wore glasses, a fisherman's hat, a trenchcoat, matching pants and a white shirt.
"Decade... Why aren't you dead yet?" He said as he too faded away in a grey wall.
"Who was that you just talked to?" Nicholas asked.
"Colonel Brolli Diamondback. He's an experienced fighter from a world of advanced magic. I expect you to be under his wing while I pull some forces together. Maybe you can learn something from him." Tsukasa said. He then looked out the window. "I... have a mission for you." He smirked as he spotted something at the window. A small white cat with long ears. The cat instantly fled. "The game is afoot."
"I can take captaining duties for now if you all wish, at least until you come to a decision. I will not give orders, for I have my own to follow, but I will order you to return to the ship when it comes time to transport to a new world. My navigational programming is shot up, so getting to where I need to be will be difficult." NAVI said, showing no concern for those who were bleeding. Just then, she blipped.
"I might take back what I've said about not giving orders... My scanners have just revealed that the Incubator is still active." NAVI said.
"I... Incubator?" Nick asked.
"It's those cat things that offer wishes. They're total dicks, but for a reason... It's complicated." Ginger said.
"This Incubator is special though... She is able to take the DNA of people and crystallize them. In short, she created the Shards. If Tsukasa is still active, he will no doubt chase after her and grab her. Her power plus his ambition for domination of the Multiverse will no doubt spell the end." NAVI said.
"So what do you want us to do?" Ginger asked.
"Retrieve the Incubator. You may be magically enhanced to see her because of the exposure to the Shard, but I detect a strong hint of energy coming from all of you... So you all are able to see her. Think of this more as a test to see who would be worthy to captain the vessel. If you don't wish to follow the order, then I won't force you to." NAVI said. Nick was unsure of what to do, until Phoenix put his hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, if we find this Tsukasa guy... we can beat the living crap outta him and I can spare you the beatings." He said. Nick, after a moment of taking in his implied threat, nodded.
"Me and Phoenix are going!" Nick said.
"... Meh, I always wanted to see an Incubator." Ginger said.
"Oh, and I guess I shall lead you bleeding people to the Medbay... This way..." NAVI said as blinking lights on the floor lit up, leading to a long narrow hall that led to several rooms. The room the lights would lead to was a bright white room with four medical beds, with tables and life monitors for each of them.

"...You're kidding... You're kidding, right?" It's possible that if she knew the first thing about astrology she'd have recognised the sigil on the top of the pen as referring to Jupiter, but as it was it just looked like a strangely shaped "4" sculpted onto a golden ball in a ring.

It took Saxen a very long time to process everything that had just transpired. The people covered in blood, the voice saying that fictional characters and worlds were real, they had powers... and the Incubator was a thing they had to go and fight or something. That... was a touch overwhelming. After all, putting the legitimacy of the whole scenario aside, what exactly did he have as a power? What did this shard thing give him? He didn't feel any different... Staring at his open palm intently, he tried to will some sort of power. Was it magic? A weapon? It was probably something from a series he knew about, right? Well... might as well see if he got something obvious. Extending his hand, Saxen tried to make it appear. It took a moment of concentration, but something finally emerged in a flash of light. He stared, wide-eyed, at the strange sword... thing he now held. Slowly, a wide grin began to spread across his face, any past hints of fear and reluctance replaced by pure excitement. "I am in." Saxen said, looking very much like he just had the best Christmas haul ever. -------------- Noel was a lot less excited about what was going on. "Wha...? Me, captain? Huh? Wh-why?" Noel mumbled in a daze. "I... np, I-I can't! I'm on a mission! I have to find Major Kisaragi! Where am I?! This... this isn't..." Noel was horribly confused by everything that had happened. She was just supposed to be going to Kagutsuchi, why was she now in a place filled with strangers, being talked to by some voice on an intercom or whatever, and being told she was a candidate to captain a ship she never heard of, and fight some person she'd never heard of? The lieutenant couldn't figure out if this was some weird ploy by a terrorist or enemy of the NOL, a dream, or an event way over her head.
