Pokemon: Dustora Destinies

West of Unova, a wide desert stretches. Naturally, the desert's not the only thing there. There are tremendous redwood forests, magnificent cities shining into the night, seaside towns, and magnificent landmarks. But there's still a lot of desert.

This is the Dustora region, home to the famous Pokewood Studios in Starbourough Town, pioneers of the silent film. Home of Plata Town, a famous mining city turned gambling paradise and home of the Dustora League. Out East, there's Starshine City, home of Elgyem, Beeheyem, and Clefairy. Even Hitechi Park, the electronics capital of the world, is here in the Dustora region. So come on! Grab your partner, whether it's a Piplup or a Pikachu, a Tympole or a Tyrannitar! Adventures await in the world of Pokemon!

So yeah, standard Pokemon RP fare. Starter from any region, as well as two ComMons or one slightly rarer one. And, as usual, ignore the metagame. This is for fun. That Rhydon is just as viable as an Alakazam.

The game begins in Starshine Town, home of Professor Red Wood, who studies the powers of Psychic-type Pokemon when he's not handing out starters.

• Personality: Walton cares about his Pokemon, and enjoys showing off. He's prone to geeking out over cool or cute Pokemon, which is why he keeps a Hoppip with no offensive moves.

• Name: Alicia Gordons
  
• Age: 16
  
• Appearance: "Um... H-h-hello." Whilst in disguise as the Mysterious Idol Riolu Gal: "Eat my JUSTICE!"
  
• Personality: Very shy and reserved. You'd be lucky to get more than a few words out of her at a time. She's a kind, gentle soul who just wants to make everyone happy, and doesn't want to see anyone, human or Pokémon, hurt or upset. Seemingly incapable of anger or hatred, she tries as hard as she can to see the best in everyone. As it turns out, she's actually a very good actress and singer; the only thing that holds her back is her shyness and lack of confidence. When she's in disguise as the Mysterious Idol Riolu Gal, however, she is... Much louder, and hammier, and more boisterous. The simple act of putting on a mask seems to break her out of her shell, and if she was to ever lose the mask she'd instantly revert to her usual, quiet persona.

• History: A young woman enamoured by the worlds of cinema and Pokémon contests purely due to how much joy they bring people. She spends most of her free time practicing acting, singing and Pokémon coordination. However, due to her almost crippling shyness, all attempts at breaking into either worlds have ended with her suffering stage fright. It seemed like her talents would go to waste, until one day when, for reasons even she can't quite understand, she decided to take to the stage in disguise as a superhero of her own devising, the Mysterious Idol Riolu Gal! Somehow, wearing a mask seemed to dispel her shyness and, armed with newfound confidence (but only whilst in disguise), she has finally set out on her journey towards stardom.

• Name: Jessica 'Sunny' Hughes

• Appearance: "I can't lose when I use fire Pokemon!"
  
• Personality: Sunny is rather passionate about Pokemon battling. Very rather. She can't seem to resist the urge to chew the scenery simply by yelling commands or encouragement, and seems to rely on purely offensive strategies, since other tactics can't possibly work of the opponent has fainted before they're executed, right? Ironically enough, she's very capable of being analytical and planning proper strategies outside of battles... she just seems to change completely during them. Under no circumstances should one call her by her 'uncool and not-hot' first name, or mention Houndour/Houndoom in front of her.
  Sunny has two goals in life: Become the strongest trainer in the world, with her trusty Fire Pokemon... and glomp her treasured idol. One of these has a lot more priority than the other.

• History: One time, when she a child, her family took a holiday in the Johto region. Had an unfortunate run-in with a wild Houndour. She barely managed to avoid getting burned by it, but she's been frightened of them ever since. Other than that, nothing notable.

• Personality: Randy is a peculiar kid, who's interests in the dark and paranormal parts of the world are matched only by his surprisingly cheerful and friendly personality.

• History: Randy's life is mostly average, with the notable exception of spending almost all of his free time hanging out around the graves of Skull Gulch as a little kid.

• Name: Kyou Shiki, 'Kyon'.
  
• Age: 18
  
• Appearance: Her clothing, minus backpack. Kyon, physically.
  
• Personality: A lazy but gifted slacker, Kyon can do surprisingly well when she applies herself... but is generally going to opt for making sardonic comments and putting in the minimum acceptable effort. This might explain why she has reached the Elite Four in various regions but only ever gotten to the second once.
  
• Team:
  • Haruhi the Eevee: stubborn, unresponsive, and named after someone Kyon knows with the same attributes. This explains why she's not that strong despite being with Kyon since Johto.
    
  • Yuki the Ralts: named for physical traits (how often do you see a blue Ralts?) more than mental attributes, it nevertheless does have a similar personality to its namesake.
• History: Kyou acquired her nickname shortly before setting off from a quiet life in Ecruteak, and has been unable to shake the name despite her best efforts.
  Initially journeying around Johto, Kyon failed to defeat the Elite Four and chose to go to Hoenn rather than bore herself to death trying. The same pattern repeated itself there and she chose to spend a few months with a relative in Fuchsia before looking around Kanto. Naturally, her next choice was to go to the last unexplored league in the country: Sinnoh.
  After finishing her journey around the northern league, Kyou returned home for her eighteenth birthday and a break from travelling.
  Interested in going abroad, she worked on her language skills at this point, and looked at the regulations for bringing Pokemon with her. Deciding the paperwork would generally be too much bother, Kyon filled out the bare minimum and brought only two weak Pokemon with her to Dustora. She's been here a few weeks.

• Appearance: "I can't wait to see the look on their faces..."
  
• Personality: Franziska is a cheerful and energetic. She has a healthy sweet tooth, and while she's slightly spoiled from growing up in a rich household, she's generally sweet-natured. She also likes ghosts. A lot. Franziska believes ghosts and ghost Pokemon are adorable, though at the same time she realizes that many people find them frightening. In fact, she's very acutely aware of this fact. Franziska has a much more mischievous side to her, a side that enjoys taking advantage of this fact to play tricks on people. Franziska uses her fashion sense(tending towards 'old-fashioned' clothing), the appearance of the mansion she lives in(a very old building), and her knowledge of ghosts and ghost stories to, quite simply, terrify people. Franziska doesn't mean any harm, but she just finds it very amusing when people get scared. It helps that she's quite good a pretending to be a ghost. She even has the maids aiding her in making the house look as eerie as possible, though they aren't too thrilled with it most of the time.

  • Gatorface the Totodile, a male Totodile. Named after a serial killer from an urban legend, he seems less enthusiastic, though still helpful, when it comes to Franziska's tricks. He knows Leer, Water Gun, and Rage.
  • Mary the Misdreavus, a female Misdreavus. She seems to deeply enjoy helping Franziska in her tricks. She knows Growl, Psywave, and Spite.
• History: Franziska's history isn't particularly special. She's a rich girl who has grown up in a large mansion, and spent a lot of time tricking people.

• Name: Zachary Summers

• Personality: Zach is very inexperienced in general and is pretty much a rookie at all things Pokemon, mainly being interested in just having fun and experiencing all the interesting things the world has to offer. Regardless, he always tries his best and works hard to become strong. Zach is also occasionally prone to odd behavior like wearing his Surskit as a hat and can be somewhat cuddly at times, especially when hyper or emotional. In addition, he has a ridiculously demanding sweet tooth.

• History: Zach lived a pretty ordinary life so far, having just recently decided to set out on his journey with a Pikachu as his starter. His parents essentially sent him off with their blessings since they thought traveling around would be a good chance for him to develop more as a person. Right now he thinks he wants to become a strong Pokemon trainer and meet interesting people, but really his dreams and ambitions have yet to solidify.

• Name: Chung Seiker
  
• Age: 16
  
• Appearance: "Good morning."
  
• Personality: Chung can normally be described as calm, though in battle she assumes a slightly hotblooded persona. She's generally mild and enjoys life by doing things at her own pace. She believes that sometimes you need to be slow, and sometimes you need to be quick. Her loyalty and perseverance are among one of her best traits, though sometimes these qualities make it hard for her to take new ideas in stride. Chung is also loves cosplay and fashion, her preferred articles being garments colored white and blue.

• History: The heiress of a high class family, Chung was educated in private schools before she set off for her personal journey. Due to her upbringing and age she set off for her journey (her sixteenth birthday), Chung is a bit innocent concerning certain things that most other children younger. Still, she's enthusiastic and hopes to distinguish a name for herself that's separate from the Seiker line as a whole.
