"Oh, hey. Welcome to Neo-Greyhawk. Don't mind the noise outside, The Cyberdemon sends a Hellborg to try to destroy the city about this time every day. Or... wait, it's Thor's Day, isn't it? That'll be the Echoing Screams of the Cosmos sending an Alpha Echo to kidnap people for study. ...Unless it's Odin's Day. Then that'll be one of Lord Apocalypse's Bone Empire Zulus here to eat magic items. Well, anyway, that's my cue. Gotta get to the workshop, get the pilots fitted out for the fight. Great talking to you!"
Hello, and welcome to the world of Monsters and Mecha! Even if it's not as nice as the Eatonrun setting a few planes over, there's still plenty of adventures to be had here. There's an alien fleet ruled by Mind Flayers and Phaerimm just waiting to invade, calling themselves the Echoing Screams of the Cosmos. Out west, there's the Glorious Empire Of Bone And Steel, ruled by a lich who wants all the world's magical power at his disposal. And of course, The Cyberdemon's abyssal hordes stand poised to swallow all of creation. In this game, you're taking control of a Super Robot pilot who stands between the good people of the world and destruction at the hands of various evil empires.
First, post your character, complete with their sheet (starting level 10)- they might need to fight outside the robot at some point after all. Then we'll discuss building a Super Robot, using a Gargantuan (about 50-foot tall) Warforged as the template, and the better of the mech or the pilot's saves. Let's start small so we have somewhere to go, okay?
Remember, it's hard for people to cast through mechs, so there's a 5% spell failure chance (from the warforged Armored Body ability). Most pilots get magical items attached to their mechs instead. If you can cast in Light or better armor, you don't have to worry about a spell failure chance- or you could just remove the armor plating or get your Mecha enhanced with the "Twilight" ability (-15% spell failure chance).
