Let's take stock of what Doomguy carries: Chainsaw, Shotgun, Plasma Gun, Rocket Launcher, Super Shotgun, Chaingun (actually a Gatling Gun), THE BFG, ammo for all of them, and can still run and jump with the stuff. Whilst firing. THEN he finds a steroid thing and gets the ability to gib stuff with a punch. And he's just a musclebound guy.
And you're saying Master Chief is better? :<

Nobody loves Petton Everhail. All he needed to kill an Arch Lich (who loves the taste of warrior blood) was an infinite supply of Magic missiles, some scrolls of "MORE Magic missiles!", and the occasional time freeze. Sure, I had shareware Wolfenstein and Blake Stone (I have a soft spot for Blake Stone). But "Curse Of The Catacombs" was my very first purchased with small child birthday money shooter, and it was amazing. It taught me valuable lessons for videogames, like not to trust anything. "Oh nice, bunny rabbits... oh god they turned into giant bunny monsters!" "Maze of angry face trees... Oh god some of them are enemies!... Oh cool, they are on fire when you kill them... Oh crap, they hurt to walk through, and are now in the path of the tree maze" "Lair of the Succubus... What's a succubus? Why are these blue ladies shooting hearts at me and why do hearts hurt?"  I also learned that Liches bleed. Hell yeah. Speaking of Comparing master chief vs normal guys, that reminds me of probably the most ridiculous Vs. thread I've seen. Thread title was along the lines of "Master Chief would have an easy time in Dead Apace." Well, duh. Out of morbid curiosity I clicked and oh wow it was worse than I thought. "Master chief would easily deal with the Necromorphs, with all his weapons and infinite ammo. Issac is just some guy." So, not only was it the pointlessness of saying that a power armored super soldier with a force field was stronger than a mechanic in a cobbled together space suit... But they have to throw in basically Cheat Codes? What, were they really insecure people would think Issac was cooler than Master Chief or something? Chief Is cool even if I don't like the Halo games. Doom Guy is cool though I like his games. Hunk In Doom is also cool. |
