So... I don't really have a real idea for the setting in this one, aside from... steampunk. But really, that gives enough of an idea for a signup, at least.
I don't have much of an idea for a plot, either, so... suggestions would be nice, honestly.
Anyway.

Name: Faversham von Gatling. She just sort of... picked bits she liked out of things she'd seen. Age: 40's, looks about 11 if you get her into children's clothes. Gender: Neither. Considers herself female for convenience' sake and it seems to have stuck. Appearance: Smaller than she seems.Personality: Not very emotive, Faversham generally appears to have no emotions. It's more that she's never put in any way to express what she DOES feel, which mostly tends to be curiosity, though she does tend to say things that annoy people, often seeming sarcastic when she points out whatever problems she can see to try and help. Is absolutely terrified of deep water due to being internally made of metal and not particularly buoyant. Abilities: - Steampunk Master Engineer: Given the materials, she can build pretty much any kinetic weapon or any vehicle not intended to go into space. She also has the knowledge base to build plasma weaponry and its ilk if given a sufficient source of power and steam. She's not good with electricity, though. Favours clockwork mechanisms over simpler things.
- Piercing Weapon Immunity: She's got a metal skeleton repaired and reinforced numerous times and that's the only part that really matters, so it's kind of pointless to shoot or stab her.
- Gatling Gun Arm: Her right arm can transform into a Gatling Gun, hand-cranked and all. It takes her about thirty seconds to actually load it, though, so it's not an immediate thing.
- Steam-Blast Handcannon: Given that Faversham herself runs on a seemingly endless source of steam, she's quite capable of using the other hand to blast people in the face with superheated water vapour. Or just pump it into stuff to power machines.
- Perpetual Motion Machine--Steam Engine: The result of weird interaction between lightning and this machinery, her chest contains this engine, which can be heard going at all times and funnelling the required resources to other parts of her body. It's extremely durable and also allows her to power the machinery using her left hand, if she needs to do so.
History: Originally just an engine surrounded by mechanisms in a scrap yard, Faversham's main components were struck by lightning. The lightning of her world also being good for such things as animating bodies, it turned the broken attempt at perpetual motion into something that worked and hooked it up into a vaguely humanoid form. Little more than a spindly skeleton of gears levers at this point, she nevertheless had a basic understanding of how to build and expand. A year or two later and she was human-looking enough to consider leaving, which she did, keeping her distance and watching people to improve her impersonation and gather clothing. After her watching period ended, she returned to the scrap heap to work on improving herself with what she could find, creating an extremely thorough, if notably imperfect, impersonation of the entire human body and considerably improving her knowledge in the process. Then war broke out. Not really wanting to take part, Faversham stayed out of the way whenever possible, even if this meant lying in ditches the whole time. One confused priest asked her what she was doing and, despite her being inhuman, took pity on her when she said she had no name and took her in until the war ended, during which time she learned how to read. It was after the war, when metal littered the battlefields, that she started up a little business, making whatever people wanted on commission. It never really became that big but it gave her the money to buy a nice clothing and some stuff that looked nice and a way to pass the time. She's been doing that for decades.
