...Which need a better name. Ahem, anyways...
So this is going to be kinda free form and sandbox-y, partially because I fail as a GM most of the time but mostly because it'll probably be more fun that way.
The basic setting is the continent of Pan-Terra, which is roughly comparable to medieval Europe... Only with magic and fantasy races running around the place. It's probably going to be more high fantasy-ish in tone, and thanks to magic, etc. the peasants, whilst still being downtrodden, aren't exactly living in squallor.
The most densely populated part of Pan-Terra is the human kingdom, led by the wise King Quilldrake. To the far north of the continent is a grim, dark wasteland known as "The Grymdharc", which is home to barbarians, orcs, and other, more distressing creatures.
There are five main races in Pan-Terra:
Humans: Same old humans, pretty much the average race. The most prolific, though, thanks to being more balanced than the others.
Dwarves: As always, stocky, bearded mountain folk with a penchant for alcohol, mining, alcohol, engineering, alcohol and more alcohol. Easily the most technologically advanced race in Pan-Terra. They partake in ancestor worship, have great respect for their elders and hold on to grudges for generations (and seeing how long a dwarf generation is...). Ruled by a king and a council of elders. Beards are seen as a mark of pride amongst dwarves (who all have beards, even the females); mocking a dwarf's beard is the quickest way to gain their ire.
Elves: Pointy eared gits with an aptitude for magic and some affinity towards nature. Long lived and often skilled with the bow. Split between four types:
Halflings: A race of short humanoids with several different names for themselves, including hobbits, munchkins and tarutaru. How many of these names are legitimate and not a result of the race's near-legendary love of pranks and jokes is unknown. They are mostly known for being immensely skilled in three things: cooking, eating, and thievery. A simple folk who mostly live in the country, away from urbanized areas, but there's always the odd weirdo in every village who seeks a life of adventure in the big cities. They have no absolute ruler, with each village being self-governed by an appointed elder.
Beastmen: Easily the most varied "race" of Pan-Terra, as this is simply a term for the various animal-human hybrid races. They vary wildly in appearance and culture, although they often form small tribes based on their beliefs and, more commonly, their appearances.
Of course, you are not limited to just these five races. Try whatever you want and we'll see if they'll fit this (admitedly vague) setting. Here's hoping this works out! >.<

Elves: Pointy eared gits with an aptitude for magic and some affinity towards nature. Long lived and often skilled with the bow. Split between four types:
- High Elves, who are elitist bastards. They live in crystal spired palaces and believe themselves to be the superior race in Pan-Terra, despite the fact that they are slowly approaching extinction. Ruled by the Phoenix King, who spends most of his time sitting in his crystal palace acting all smug and superior.
- Wood Elves, who are isolationist bastards. Not much is really known about them, other than they live in the forests and tend to look down upon outsiders intruding on them.
- Dark Elves, who are sadistic bastards. A splinter group from the High Elves who were banished to the Grymdharc after a civil war long before the time of man. They possess a deathlike pallour and are far more honest about the "we are a race of utter bastards" thing than any other type of elf. Very into slavery and torture. A matriarchal society ruled by their immortal and possibly completely insane queen, although no-one really listens to her anymore. They tend to treat female slaves much better than male slaves, who are treated as little more than cattle. Use dinosaurs as beasts of burden (no, really).
- "Humanized elves" who have integrated into human society and are far less concerned with the percieved notion of elven superiority than the other three types. Generally indistinguishable from humans aside from their pointed ears, effeminate frames and aptitude for magic. Generally looked down upon by the other three types of elves.
