The Discussion Thread is the Discussion Thread. This is where we put our plans and signups for next season, and discuss next season.

Hm... I'm trying to figure out how Flanker may have changed from S1 to S2, and I'm drawing blanks. Any advice on how to work this sort of thing out?
Also, I saw Strat's reregistered - is he coming back?

Borrowing this for Jack at some point in S2. Because... it's awesome, and out of all my characters Jack fits it the best because knives.

So, for anyone that cares (all one of you) that wasn't in the chatbox recently, I've made a decision on what I'm going to do with Tachi for season two! ^_^
Which is to say that he's not going to be present at all, since it's blatantly obvious that it's impossible to work out a powerset for him because I always end up spotting a reason to not use an idea. Whether it's because it's underpowered, overpowered, overused or just because the person that suggested the idea can't be bothered taking five seconds to explain what they actually meant I'll just randomly change my mind for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Now I just need to decide if he goes home at the end of season one, if he dies at some point during the timeskip or if he's still there, just nowhere near anything that's happening for some reason.

Or he could just choose not to go back into Multiverse saving.
Earth doesn't Time-Skip, right? Ciarán will just stay at home.
But for Season 2, I have an idea. Ciarán starts to get blocky, and has to take another shard to overpower the blockiness with humaness.
Late-game taking of shard, of course. If I'm mid-tier now, and power levels are lower in S2, Ciarán taking another power early on would be too much.

Yeah, I'm not really sure, but I recall agreeing upon a twenty-year timeskip. I'm not sure if that's twenty Lilim years or twenty years somewhere else.
Might be twenty Lilim years though if I recall correct.

I recall the Time-Skip wasn't going to affect Lilim because it would be too hard to predict what happenes.
And I might not have the "take a shard" thing. Just play a guy with SP Elemental powers.

I believe it was 20 years main multiverse time, with Lilim going at real life time...

So I didn't need to use ascension to explain Jenny not ageing.

Yeah, I'll definitely have a guy with SP Elemental Powers. Because those are awesome.

Really? Huh. I wasn't expecting that. Not sure if I want to give Flanker a trenchcoat/cloak thingamajig (trenchcloak?) in S2 like the ones in this image or not. On the one hand, they look pretty cool (at least to me). On the other, I'm not sure that's enough justification (and where the hell would he have gotten one?!).

Yeah, IIRC it was 20 years of the general multiverse timeline, Lilim advances to the start date of S2 and everybody can take liberties with their personal timeline if they so wish.

*sigh*
You might have told me that before I decided to totally bugger all my character development.

They'll have some sort of ship that will be given to them by one of the new Monitors. Monitors? As if getting a ship from some suitable universe is all that hard.

Yeah... The idea I had was that he simply gives them a Gummy Ship he jacked from the KHverse.

The Brotherhood should totally have a Macross for their main ship. >.>

Just give me something to fail at piloting like I did with the Tel'tak and I'll be happy.

Since I am a terrible, boring human being, all I could think was "something super sleek" (god I love smooth/sleek starships) or a Rheinlandic battleship (despite looking ugly as sin it's got a weird sort of rough-and-ready charm to it, at least to me... though that may be nostalgia speaking and the fact that Freelancer's super under-represented on the Internet).
Also, if we can customise our characters' rooms on said ship (whatever will it be called, I wonder?) at all, I know what I'm doing!

I'm still holding out for having a planet shard :I

Macross class ships are large enough to house small cities inside them, come with a powerful wave motion gun AND are one of the few types of battleship that can punch other battleships in the face.
Just saying, is all. >.>

What's a planet shard? Mahou Moerin: You certainly drive a hard bargain. =P Admittedly none of the other choices outlined thus far have the ability to punch other ships (unless we go for some sort of bizarre comedic "punching glove on a string" style weapon), which is a point in the Macross's favour, but (at least for the larger ones) I can't see why we wouldn't be able to retrofit a massive laser. If I'm looking at the right ship, it looks kinda cool, though. What would we do with all that space though, I wonder?

I think Macross level stuff is a bit too big for dicking around the multiverse in.

If it's too big, go for a Macross Quarter. Only 1/4 the size of a regular Macross!

Post by Flanker on Nov 1, 2012 18:27:16 GMT -5
So, just to get things straight, the current list is something like: - Macross/Macross Quarter
- Gummi Ship
- Planet Shard
- Rheinland Battleship
I apologise if I missed anything! EDIT:8,000th post on the entire forum, woo!

We could also go for multiple methods of transportation like with the Ha'tak and Gaohliner.

I always imagined the S2 Brotherhood as a sort of small fleet. Like, 3 main ships and a ton of smaller ships designed for universal travel.

I like the idea of big ships. Because it matches with my idea of how the Brotherhood operates:
- One main ship. Very big. Sort of the Brotherhood HQ. Where Roy, the generals and most of the soldiers stay, sleep, train, eat and basically live. Also holds some basic facilities, like a small hospital and an armory, but it also has a lab where the R&D folks work on new stuff and find out the weakness on the enemies' weapons.
- Two ships, medium-sized. One of them is the second HQ, has some of the stuff from the main HQ, designed to act as a secondary command center in emergency cases. The other is a mostly Red Cross-like ship, designed to land down in planets in need, stay there for a few months, and then fly off to help other planets (as long as they agree to the help).
- If you do a good job in the Brotherhood, no matter your rank, you can get access to a personal ship for easy universal travel. All of these have trackers, in case a Brotherhood member disappears or decides that it'll be fun to shoot at innocent people.
