What kind of bonkers insane drama did I miss in Chat this time? (Or at least, that always seems to be the cause) People were getting approved by Psyga for Season 2 as of two hours ago by in the signup thread. So going from character approvals to "Sorry it's not happening/might happen" in that short a span of time is a bit of a swerve.

Um... basically, things are looking up after some serious problems, but there probably won't be any kind of real conclusion until tomorrow.

Comedy Reason: Season 2 got derailed because it would mean I'd be playing something.
Two reasons I don't use the Chat. The first is I wouldn't be actually around/paying attention to it most of the time. The second is because all of the worst drama is always there and this way I get to be ignorant of what everyone is hesitant to come out and say when asked on the forums.
If it's so bad Vita can't/won't reveal it, it must be pretty Brown Note horrible.

Yeah... It was pretty big. Big enough for the chatroom to be deleted from here.

I think I'm done with the chatroom. I never went in there anyway, and I've pretty much convinced myself that it's the root of all drama in general due to experience.

Just going to say something here that was in the chat earlier regarding the issue with Gate of Babylon/Ea being too powerful. Out of character, no one wants to use it. The only time any of the people who need to approve its use would be willing to do so is when the only alternative is a TPK. If anyone else has an idea that would avoid that happening, it wouldn't be used.
At the same time, if the GMs want a situation to look hopeless and like everyone's going to die there are still options to avoid the Gate being unlocked. Since it requires sending a decent number of a specific group of characters to a specific location, say that sending a bunch of people somewhere else is likely to result in the other characters getting overrun and captured/killed, say that by the time they get back the villain will have accomplished whatever they were there for and everyone will be doomed anyway, say they can't spare whatever's needed to travel there at that point or, if you think it's likely to happen during an arc, try to split those characters in such a way that it's not an option.
Of course, those are only necessary if simply telling Rain that unlocking the Gate isn't acceptable doesn't work. Which I'm fairly sure it would.
Vetoing the character because of something that is highly unlikely to come into play and in the event that people want it to, isn't exactly difficult to circumvent seems kind of odd to me.
Also, yes, people talk the Nasuverse up. They're fans of it, gushing about it's kind of expected.
I'm truly sorry if anyone had calmed down and was in a better mood after yesterday and got riled up again by this. It wasn't my intention to anger anyone.

The reason most of the drama seems to happen on the chat is because most of the discussion happens on the chat.

Alright, I'm gonna just say this first. This has nothing to do with anything related to the game or the character, and is just a heads up.
Telling a GM to go fuck themselves is pretty disrespectful to them and their position, regardless of any point you're trying to make. It kind of loses style points, you know.

...Y'know, I was thinking of making a long, detailed post containing all of the reasons I've decided to not take part in S2. And no, it's not just because of what you're probably thinking, because there are an abundance of reasons I decided to do so.
But after everything that's happened? No-one deserves to hear them. Not a single one. Sorry. None of this is worth putting up with at all.
...Actually, y'know what? One reason I'll state: stop scapegoating my friends. And yes, you ARE scapegoating them, because... Some of the reasons you've listed for why they're utterly deplorable people who should all die in a fire? They were my fault. I did them. Don't act like I'm some kind of perfect, flawless saint, because I am far from that. Especially if you're going to be a creep about it. But even then, everyone is to blame in some way. You're just too blinded by your need to find someone else to blame to see it, and it's one of the many things I honestly can't stand any longer.
See you all some other time.

I hope so Moe. But the thing is? Everything I've said regarding her powers is a legitimate thing that everyone assumes I'm bringing up just to be antagonistic. It's not. But when I try to explain that, I'm just labeled as someone whose every action is bad and wrong. So fuck it. Goodbye all, goodbye JTTM, goodbye forum.

I'm sorry I tried to make this enjoyable for people outside the Hades Party. I'm sorry I tried to do anything right and I'm sorry I tried to compromise. Everyone has five days to get whatever they want off this forum.

I WAS planning on backing up the RP a while ago, but there's no point.
No one actually cares.

And I'm gonna say my piece...
This has been bubbling up. From the day you guys signed up, there were things that haven't really been smooth. I was a terrible GM because I didn't know the signs and didn't act sooner... I just wanted to tell a story that everyone could be a part of. It didn't need to be a huge flame war. Disagreement after disagreement, comprise after compromise... I tell you, this was bound to explode, but I didn't expect to explode today. Or yesterday. Or any other day.
I just wanted to have an RPG. With closure. But I can't even be granted that. Instead, I had a war erupt in front of me by people who had enough of what happened and people who wanted to have fun. If I am ever asked to take a side, I am not sure who to pick. I want everyone to be happy, but it seems that this can't be accomplished.
This, along with some other things, has caused me to not like JTTM all that much. It had me pine for fresh starts. New beginnings. That's why I try to reinvent the RPG. It was the one RPG that I have ever had take off and not die in a fire. And now that will never have closure because of a war. Look, it's clear Kraut and a lot of other people have something against them, and I'd be a liar if I said I didn't have some beefs with them as well.
What I'm saying is that we get angry. We have grudges. And we had let those grudges get in the way of the RPG. And now it's dead. Even if some how, we save it, we all know it's a former shell of what it used to be, and what it would have been. And it saddens me to see it get destroyed because of disagreements. It saddens me to know that I worried this would be bound to happen from the beginning, and I did nothing to stop this.
With that, I'm not sure where I'm gonna go from here. Maybe retire from roleplaying. Maybe write a fanfic about JTTM. Whatever happens, I want there to be no grudges formed from this incident. That's what caused the downfall to happen. I don't want to see a person looking at another and go "grrrrrrrr... I'm gonna spite him horribly."... I know that's difficult to do, but this grudge will eat us if we let it fester...
Well, I think I'm done.
@star: I care. This is my RPG.

If it makes you feel any better Psyga, this sort of thing crops up in basically every Freeform Roleplay ever.
My bar has been somewhat skewed from past experience, any form of "My Character/Power is better than yours because Cannon" has been reduced to a tired eyeroll at best when I've seen Magneto given psychic powers stronger than Xaviers. Or Fing Fang Foom turned into a Bishonen, describing how delicate his katana drawing fingers are and how beautiful his fire breathing lips are, while they kidnap a preteen girl to be his bride by landing his private jet on a road.
I hope wherever the internet brings you from here works out for you Psyga, thanks for having me along for what little I've been a part of.

That is encouraging. While the internet may have some swift blow ups, fortunately the internet also has the potential for swift cooldowns. It hasn't even been 24 hours and things are (apparently) mostly resolved.
I know I'm not part of the old crew, Krautman namedropped the game and after so many good times where we ended up in the same games ON ACCIDENT, figured I'd give it a shot. If those willing to put in the often near thankless job of running the show are indeed still up for it, I'm still going to give season 2 a chance.
