Roy sighed, looking around. The good thing about being the leader of a faction with mostly teenagers was the fact that everyone woke up at around... 10 AM. Which left him the only one that woke up at 6. Of course, considering he had to wake up, have breakfast, look at all the threats and messages he received overnight and fix any problems with NAVI, Roy was practically forced to wake up early.
But that didn't mean he had to hate his routine. In fact, he enjoyed it. Every night, at 6:30, NAVI printed for him that day's newspaper- a special newspaper, with news from various worlds- gave him a cup of coffee, a plate with eggs n' bacon, and he sat there for an hour, all by himself, enjoying his breakfast.
Which explains why he was suprised to see Falkon there. Cleaning his throat and setting down his cup, he raised an eyebrow and said:
"I'm surprised to see you here."

"Why?" Falkon asked, "Everybody's got to eat."
Truth be told, Falkon actually wasn't sure why he had decided to go there. He normally had his breakfast in his quarters, right before going to the storage bay to train, and that was normally around 11...
"What's in the... Paper?" he asked, a little confused that someone would be inclined to read using that medium. He'd always had trouble handling newspapers.

"Hey, I'm not angry." Roy said, shrugging. "Most of my memories of a morning routine include standing in line for coffee while listening to Hughes babble about his daughter."
He was about to drink again when Falkon asked what was in the paper. "It's a newspaper," he answered, a bit confused. "You don't read newspapers back home?"

"Most people get their info online, at least where I live." Falkon said.

"Online?" Roy chuckled, setting down his cup once more. "I can't really get a grasp on the technology found in this ship. Touch screens, simulations... maybe that's why I read a newspaper. It's something I'm familiar with, even with the knowledege I absorbed from..."
He stopped talking, and looked at Falkon with wary eyes. "Sorry," he said, tapping his ungloved fingers on the table, "Not absorbed. Borrowed. He's... he's still in here, somewhere... do any of you miss him?"

"Well, yes..." Falkon said, "There probably wouldn't be anyone to miss him if he were still here, though."

"... I am well aware of that. Although you do need to understand that any normal 17 year old boy would have also cracked under so much pressure." Roy said, slowly drinking from his cup, his eyes focused on a certain spot on the table. "He even had a crush on one of his subordinates, and when said subordinate... well... stabbed him, he completely gave up."
He chuckled, and set down the cup. "It's a good thing I took over. However, Falkon, let me ask you... what would you have done after leaving the Brotherhood? I remember the constant talk about your hate for someone named Kios."

"Well..." Falkon shrugged, "I dunno. I suppose I would've hunted down Kios, and taken him out. No idea what I would do after that."

"Probably joined Dai-Shocker." Roy said, staring at his coffee. He glanced at Falkon. "I'm not doubting your loyalty, Falkon, but you're fifteen. One could easily... manipulate your morals... turn you into something you're not. Just like Jenny. In fact, you're the two people I feel I need to take care of." He began to gently swing his cup, watching the swirls formed in the coffee.

"Makes sense." Falkon said, "Most of us have the instinct to protect the young. Even if the young are only two or three years younger than a person."
As he was saying this, Falkon leaned on the table, resting his head on his hands. "But I doubt I would join Dai-Shocker. My morality isn't quite as manipulatable as you think."

"Good men have rules. And rules are what make them easy to manipulate. I was a pawn on someone else's plan once." he said, gently scratching his eyes. "But don't worry, I'll make sure the Brotherhood will stick together, even if I have to give an arm and a leg for that to happen."
Finishing his coffee, Roy glanced over at Falkon. "Could you tell me more about Viktor? I didn't get the chance to talk with him."

"Viktor?" Falkon said, "He was a pacifist. Didn't want us to hurt anyone, even the enemy. It was a pretty good belief... But it wasn't one that worked well in our situation. Michael didn't agree with him on that. Actually, he wanted to mutiny, I think. He and Viktor didn't really get a long."

"A good belief?" Roy scoffed. "In another situation, I would agree with you. But we're facing an extremely different situation. This is the Multiverse. You agree with me, don't you?"

"Well, seeing as I just said that..." Falkon said, "That is true."

"What do you plan to do once this is all over, Falkon? Will you stay with us? There will be a position for you in the future of the Brotherhood. Once we get all the rankings sorted out."

"I dunno..." Falkon said, "I'm really not much of a military type. I might go back to Earth, or live in the Fire Nation with Ty Lee..."

"Oh! So you're actually pursuing a future with her. That's good." Roy said, patting Roy in the back. "I'm not actively pursuing anyone, but that doesn't mean you should follow my example. Young love is the best kind of love. And from what I've seen of the Fire Nation... it's a nice place to live, if not a bit rudimentary."

"Oh, I doubt that'll be a problem. Might be a nice change from all this military style technology!" Falkon said.
