Arturia gently shook. She was not one to be easily shaken, but this...
The school day had long since ended. In fact, the sun was setting at this point, casting an orange-pink glow across the clouds. She had been out on an errand for her parents, having not even taken a moment to change out of her school uniform to rush out and pick up the groceries. She'd simply been walking down the street, making a bid for the shopping district... when one of the strangest feelings she ever felt had overcome her. The moments that followed were jumbled and confused. She had been bombarded with a lot of nonsense at once, something about evil and magic, and needed to defend... it all seemed to have just pumped itself int her head out of no-where. And then her body had felt... weightless, she had felt so light-headed... and then it was over, leaving Arturia shaken. She had no idea what had happened, it had just come so suddenly and left just as quickly.
"Wh-what... was that...?" Arturia asked, looking around, eyes wide with shock. No-one seemed to be close by...
Just what had happened?!
The girl in the golden dress stood upon a lamppost.
"They're not worthy of it."
"Mongrels."
Houraisan Kaguya had awakened with a start. As was usual, she had decided to spend part of the day lounging about idly. This was that part of the day, and she had fallen asleep. The sudden bombardment of information and weird feelings had shaken her awake.
Kaguya rubbed her eyes. Was that some kind of weird dream? What was that? And she had felt so strange, that's what had jogged her awake.
Clearly, the best response was to wander over to Mokou and bug her about it.

Mokou, meanwhile, had been precariously balanced trying to get an inexplicable bird from off of the cupboard it had claimed as its own. Stupid creature... why the hell was the thing even IN the school? And then the images struck, and she fall onto the floor in a tangle of limbs and curses, awkwardly climbing to her feet and glad she'd opted to wear the boys' uniform instead. The girls'... yeah, to hell with something so likely to be revealing. At least her father hadn't insisted on THAT, since he'd managed to arrange things so that she got to redo highschool after accidents and fighting had gotten in the way and she would've HAD to obey.
There was still no force in the world that could stop her from smoking in school, though, whether during lunch or, as now, during club activities. She'd have to find a better club than this one, though, maybe something that'd let her tinker with bikes. She had experience with them.

The images rattled through Mami's head in a disjointed and slightly disorientating manner. She looked up from the book she was reading.
"Well, that was... strange." She said, to no-one in particular. But what did it all mean?

"W-wha-?!"
Coming to a sudden stop as she returned home from a nearby park, Noel's eyes widened as... something entered her mind. Stuff she couldn't understand, but apparently knew. What was happening to her?!
Deciding that she didn't like that very much, Noel trembled in place for a minute, until she was sure that whatever had happened was over before hurrying home. That had been... confusing as hell.

Arturia took a deep breath, and leaned up against the nearby building wall, placing the bag of groceries on the ground and holding her head. She was... still off-balance, still disoriented. That had really set her off-course... What was that? Truly, she had no idea. Her first line of thought was somewhat out of it, and was a lot more tired then she realized. But no, that couldn't have been the case...
Arturia straightened, and looked up. Whatever it was... she needed to get back home. She couldn't help but notice the small blonde figure running past... after a few moments, she recalled just who it was. That little girl she sometimes saw on her way back home. Noel, or something like that. Out alone, this late? That was a bit dangerous for a young girl... Whatever had afflicted her for that brief moment could wait, she would make sure the girl got home safely.
She began to move to catch up with the girl, when she saw a golden shape move in the air...
"Mokou-chaaaan! I just had a-did you fall?" Kaguya blinked, and approached the fallen white-haired girl. She was a bit concerned that Mokou had managed to injure herself. Kaguya wasn't really oblivious to Mokou's animosity towards her, rather she simply didn't care. Kaguya was soon standing directly over Mokou, looking directly down at her head, bent slightly.
"... Normally you're taller then me, but now you're on the ground so I'm taller!" she suddenly exclaimed with a cheerful smile.
Kaguya had the tendency to say some... very odd things.
The girl in the golden dress gracefully landed on the ground, a few feet ahead of Noel. Her dress fluttered in the wind, but to be truthful it didn't really look like fabric. No, the dress flowed, like liquid gold. The girl folded her arms, crimson eyes falling on Noel and fixing them in her sights.
"This mongrel is one of Gaia's new choices?" she inclined her head to the side, a small, amused smile coming to her lips. "My kingdom requires no further defense, especially not in the form of someone so unworthy."

As if she weren't confused enough by whatever had happened a moment ago, now Noel saw a girl in a golden dress descend from the sky before her. Coming to an astounded stop, Noel blinked repeatedly, trying to process this. A girl in gold... descending from the skies... talking about her kingdom...
I-it's an angel! Noel thought, flustered. A really young, possibly quite rude angel, but still! Ah, wat did the angel want with her?! Wait, she didn't go and die, did she? Noel very much did not want that to happen. Dieing invlved not living, and thatb was the opposite of what Noel wanted to do.
The young girl WOULD have questioned the angel about her state of mortality, but the tiny squeak that came from her throat indicated that she was far too intimidated to do it properly.

Frowning, Mokou stretched. Nothing felt injured, but still... it was best to check. The white haired girl turned her back on Kaguya and took off the Gakuran, exposing an expanse of pale skin and a definite lack of a shirt or bra under that. "Hey, see any bruises or anything?"

Arturia's sprint slowed when she came upon the girl, Noel. There was another child there, one Arturia had never seen in her neighborhood. She was a cute child, clad in a flowing, golden dress... Strange. That dress didn't appear... normal, like it wasn't made out of fabric...
"Another of Gaia's Chosen?" the girl asked, inclining her head to the side.
"This mongrel-" the golden-haired girl gestured to Noel, "-appears to have been stunned into silence by my glory. Unsurprising. She is wholly unworthy of this power. In any case, my kingdom requires nothing more than myself to defend it. There was no reason for Gaia to choose unworthy mongrels as defenders."
Arturia stared. What was this girl talking about? She would at first have assumed she was bullying Noel, but... none of this made sense. This small girl was talking as if she was some great and powerful monarch. "Gaia? What are you talking about? Have you been bullying this girl?"
"You don't even know?" the golden-hair girl raised an eyebrow, then let off a peal of laughter. "Haha! Perhaps even Gaia doubted your worth if it didn't inform you of your purpose. Though I will admit that your struggles may at least be amusing."
Arturia narrowed her eyes at the golden-haired girl. These... strange things she was saying. Was she playing? Maybe that was it... She looked down at Noel. "Do you want help getting home? I saw you running home alone, but it's late, it's not safe to be out alone for young girls."
The strange girl raised an eyebrow. Arturia looked back up. At this point, she had begun to assume the child was playing make-believe. "Do you want to be walked home, too? It's not safe to be playing outside this late."
The strange girl laughed.
Kaguya's eyes widened as Mokou removed the gakuran, exposing her bare back. Mokou's back was very... well... For starters, Kaguya harbored an attraction to Mokou. At least if the dreams about having warm baths with her among other things indicated anything. This was in spite of the animosity Mokou had for her. Though really, Kaguya basically didn't acknowledge that animosity at all, so it wasn't so surprising. But, at the moment, she was faced with Mokou's bare back. Her... very alluring back.
Kaguya appreciated Mokou from all angles, and her back was no exception. The black-haired girl was now deeply blushing as she stared at the older girl's back. Her normally clouds-and-bunnies-filled thought process was now filled with the image of Mokou's back. "Waaaaaaah... s-so..."
She stood there for a moment, swaying slightly.
"... Oh, n-no bruises! And... lots of... nice."

Noel's confusion was increasing with every passing second, it seemed. Another girl had arrived while the angel said... stuff that Noel wasn't quite comrehending. What or who was Gaia? What power? Why was she a mongrel? All of these questions needed a clear answer, but Noel was too nervous to ask for a clarification.
Quickly glancing at the older girl, Noel's face reddened slightly as she stammered a reply, "U-um... I-I'm okay... I think... I-I can make it home..."
Well, at least it seemed unlikely she was dead, if this girl were offering to walk her home, but that laughing girl had still come from the sky, right...? Noel wasn't quite sure what to make of this, so maybe getting home as quickly as possible was the best course of action...

The strange images flashed through Aile's mind, distracting her just long enough to make her lose control of her bike, pitching herself over the handlebars and landing in a battered and bruised heap near everyone else.
"Ow..."

Joan was walking back from school, when suddenly a bunch of images flashed though her head.
"Ack! "
She lost track of where she was going, and ended up wandering over where everyone else was.

Exiting a small shop, Alice gave the items she'd purchased one last check. After all, it would be better to find out she'd bought the wrong thing or forgotten to buy something now, rather than when she got home. Then the girl was struck by an unusual sensation as information seemed to pour into her mind from nowhere.
Once the feeling passed, the baffled teen looked around. That was strange. She shook her head and made a mental note to check what could've caused that before getting back to the task at hand. As she examined the components in her bag, she couldn't help but realise that combining these would...well, they'd explode. The green haired girl turned back, re-entering the store. She'd need to fix this issue.

"Huh, really?" Mokou asked, putting her clothes aside and standing up, "I was sure there should at least be some bruising or something..."
Shrugging, the white-haired girl sat on the table, facing Kaguya, and reached into a pocket. Cigarettes: check. Lighter: check. One plus the other: done. She didn't seem overly concerned about being topless whilst facing the shorter girl. They were both girls, right? It wasn't as if she had much of anything there, either...

The golden-haired girl's laughter came to a halt. She turned to regard the newcomers, crimson eyes narrowing as she did. "Hmph. Gaia choose so many of you..."
Her smile returned. The pure arrogance of her expression was practically perceptible to all five of the senses, not simply sight. Arturia frowned.
"I require no help from any worthless mongrel. There is not one of you who could even hope to match my power," she continued, eyes returning to rest on Arturia. Something about that look... Arturia didn't like it. Arturia didn't like any of this. This little girl was acting so unlike a child, such arrogance in such a small form... and more and more, Arturia was doubting that the girl was simply playing make-believe.
Her first course of action was to lightly take the other child, Noel's, hand. She didn't feel entirely well with just letting a young girl walk home so late at night on her own. Arturia looked to the girl who had crashed in her bike nearby, next.
"Are you alright?" she asked, "You should get home. All of us should get home..."
Arturia returned her focus to the gold-haired girl. "You too. I don't know what you're doing, but it's not safe playing outside so la-"
At once there arose a horrible sound. From the blackness in a nearby alley was an unnatural squelching, rustling sound.
It wasn't like anything Arturia had ever heard before. Quickly, she turned to look into the alley, but there was nothing in that deep void of shadows. It seemed almost abnormally dark in the alley. It was late, but... not that late...
The gold-haired girl grinned. "Ah-ha, entertainment! The one thing you worthless dogs are use for!"
With that, she sprang into the air, impossibly high for anyone, let alone such a small girl. She landed neatly on the lamppost behind her, and folded her arms.
The horrible sound grew louder.
Red was not a fitting word for the coloration that Kaguya's face had taken. No, rather it was deepest bloodiest crimson, a shade of red so intense that she nearly glowed. "Wh-whaaa... Mokou-chan... y-you... heheheeeeee!"
Kaguya was certainly not about to complain about this view. A flat chest was undeniably suited to Mokou, and it was regardless nice to look at. The black-haired girl could feel a trickle of blood from her nose.
... Wasn't there something kind of important to mention...?
"... Oh... M-Mokou-chan! I saw a bunch of weird things in my head a little while ago!" she suddenly burst out, wiping the blood off of her face.
And then, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a dark figure rush past the window...
"Eh...?"

"You're always seeing weird things in your head. Idiot." Mokou pointed out, not noticing the blur and instead producing a tissue from her other pocket. It was unused but rather dishevelled... and it wasn't as if the black haired girl had THAT much choice in the matter. It was that or get bloodstains everywhere. Why the hell was she bleeding, anyway? It was stupid!

Noel was surprised when she felt the older girl's hand on hers, but she gripped firmly. Normally, she'd be blushing and staring at the ground, but Noel was getting quite unnerved by the golden angel. And people were apparently gathering now. Getting home would be the best course of act-
Hearing that strange sound, Noel yelped and immediately hid behind Arturia, quivering with fright. What the hell was that?! It sounded... really, really not pleasant! And the angel had disappeared! What was going on here?!
"...C-c-c-can we g-o...?" Noel whispered, figuring that getting away from the strange noise would help a lot to calm her down.

"... But... but these were different weird things, Mokou-chan!" protested Kaguya, returning her attention to the white-haired girl. Whatever was outside, it probably wasn't important. Even if it looked a little bit weird. The weird thing she saw in her head seemed far more important then the weird thing outside the window. "It wasn't bunnies and clouds and moons and things like that, it was a bunch of weird images and muddy-looking things..."
Kaguya frowned. It was so muddled... just a jumbled mess of images that she simply couldn't decipher. It was far too confusing for her. Confusing enough that she jumped in complete surprise when something thudded against the door to the hallway...
"..."
The girl had jumped so high... and that horrible, horrible sound...
Arturia interposed herself between Noel and the alleyway. Whatever was in there wasn't normal. And it sounded dangerous. "Get out of here. I'll keep whatever's in there from getting to you. Just get home. Whatever's in there sounds dange-"
Something emerged from the alley. It was unlike anything Arturia had ever seen before. Its body wasn't composed of flesh and blood, instead an oozing, fetid mass of black mud. From the mass extended eight legs of bent metal on either side of its body, each moving independently to scuttle across the ground. The... thing was roughly the side of a car. Inside the ooze, there was a darker shape, something within.
The dark thing was making its way right for them. Arturia was shocked. This thing... it wasn't human, it wasn't some kind of animal, it wasn't anything that she'd ever seen before. "What... is it...?"
Arturia stared for a moment, then shook her head. "Run, just... just go!"
She didn't know what else to do. But she wouldn't let it hurt the other girls, whatever it was.

Mokou was about to reply when she heard the thud and reflexively turned to face it, hands balling into fists and cigarette ground out underfoot. She could understand people still being around at this time of day; clubs weren't even out yet, but to be attacking an open door? Well, the person in question obviously wasn't from here and certainly couldn't be trusted.
Thinking fast, the white haired girl picked up one of the desks, ready to throw it. Despite looking rather like she should snap in a strong breeze, Mokou was actually pretty strong.

Running was an excellent idea, and one that Noel would have loved to carry out, but as soon as the young girl had set her eyes on the creature that had scared her, her mind and body seemed to freeze.
Unable to comprehend what she was looking at, Noel merely clung to the back of Arturia's shirt, eyes wide as she beheld the... thing that came at them. Fainting was also sounding like a good idea to her dumbfounded brain. Yeah, she was probably going to go with that fainting idea... seemed far easier.

Kaguya turned to face the door, inclining her head to one side. What was that? Why was someone knocking on a door that was already open? It just didn't make any sense... she frowned. "Who's there?"
And then, it emerged from around the door. At first glance, it was a sliding mass of oozing mud, but on closer inspection it was clear that there were sharp shards of metal protruding from it. Within, there was some kind of mass... though Kaguya wasn't focused on that. She was more focused on staring it utter confusion at the grotesque thing before her.
"... Wh-what...?"
And then, tendril-like, one of the shards of metal was shot straight for Kaguya and Mokou.

Mokou's first reaction was, naturally, to toss the desk at the thing, hopefully deflecting the metal shard, and then drop to the ground... dragging Kaguya with her. This wasn't quite the sort of fight she was used to getting into--for one, they involved people, and there was generally a lot more posturing and time to prepare for violence--but she was far more capable of taking any action than the ditz next to her. Now, if only she was by her bag, she was sure there was some sort of deodorant or something (she'd filled the bag at the beginning of term and not emptied it since) in there...
"Oi, Kaguya, get to my stuff and bring it to me. And remember, stay down."

Kaguya let out a yelp as she hit the ground, the thing's metal shard striking the desk and lodging into it. What was it!? What was that thing entering the room?! Even the air was starting to smell, it was awful!
"I... I... okay!"
As the thing smashed the desk against the ground, attempting to shake the desk off, Kaguya began to scoot across the ground to reach Mokou's bag. She wasn't sure what use it would be, but she didn't really know what else to do. Still, this thing was horrible, and confusing, and-
Fiveimpossiblerequestshouraisankaguyaimmortality
"... Wh-wha...?"
Kaguya froze. Something had just spoke in her head. Five... impossible requests? The... what did that mean?
"F-five... Impossible Requests...?" she wondered allowed, now completely distracted from the advancing blob of mud. And then... something glowed. Something... in her uniform?
The blob dragged itself towards her.
"I said run!" cried Arturia, feeling the small hands of the little girl on her shirt. She had no idea how to deal with the horrific mass of mud that was advancing rapidly towards them, aside from buying the others some time. Maybe her kendo skills would be useful, she might be able to find something she could improvise as a weapon... but would that even help against this hideous creature? She didn't know, but she didn't have much of a choi-
Kingofknightsexcalibursaberarturiapendragon
Arturia's eyes widened. What was this... sound in her head? She hadn't really hear it, but... that jumble of words had just came into her head... it... it made some sort of sense in some way that Arturia didn't comprehend but simply knew.
The creature lashed out.
Arturia didn't have time to react, she didn't even have a weapon, she needed a weapon, she-
Arturia's clothing exploded.
"Wh-what?!"
Time seemed to slow down. Her body was obscured by an instant of golden light... and then that light was replaced by flowing, white clothing, pristine armor above it. A large bow had appeared on the back of her head, her blond hair now up in a ponytail.
Something hadn't happened, even if she didn't understand what had just happened she could feel it.
Avalo-
The spike of metal crashed into her chestplate. The wind was knocked out of her, and Arturia stumbled back. But it hadn't even pierced the armor. It retracted immediately, preparing for another strike.
Almost immediately, she felt something in her hand. Raising it, she stared in shock at the elegant blue-and-gold-hilted western blade that had appeared in her hand. The blade was the most pristine silver, the base adorned with blue-and-gold decoration.
She didn't know what had happened, but she had her weapon.
Arturia Pendragon raised her blade, slipping into a ready position.
The golden-haired girl tilted her head, perched on the lamppost above.
Interesting...

Scowling at Kaguya's ineptness, Mokou scrambled across the floor and grabbed the bag, reaching i-
fujiwaranomokoumysticinfernohouraielixir
-nto it and drawing out the aerosol. There was an odd weight in her pocket, but to hell with that. Her other pocket was the one with the lighter, and she wasn't about to play with stupid, irrelevant masses when some dark mud was screwing around with stuff. Creeping forwards behind the desks, the white haired girl got into position... and struck.
Now, there were various flaws with using an aerosol as a flamethrower: firstly, it might explode. Secondly, there was the limited range. And finally, it didn't have the 'cover the enemy in flaming liquid' touch of actual weaponised flamethrowers. Not that this made much difference to Mokou, emptying an entire can of deodorant in one uninterrupted streak of flame on the... whatever it was seemed like it would be enough.
Or at least bake it solid so she could smash it to bits.

"Oh...Crap." Joan said, slowly backing away from the monster in the alleyway. Whatever this thing was, it probably wanted to eat them or something. heirofbreathwindythingjoanegbert"Wha-" Joan said, rubbing her head as the words began to loop through her mind. Suddenly, a gust of wind struck Joan, wrapping around her body. Her clothes melted away and shifted into a hooded blue nightgown. Joan tugged at her new outfit in confusion. "What the heck is this!?" She then turned towards Arturia, who had also changed clothes. The older girl had also obtained a sword, somehow. How did she get a sword? Joan thought, before a rainbow colored hammer appeared in her hands. Oh. That's how.Joan settled into a fighting stance, and waited for the monster to make its next move.

Noel couldn't bring herself to flee, her mind was too busy trying to make sense of what was happening to her. Angels, monsters... was the world ending?! Was this just the beginning?! If so, it really didn't matter if she ran, after all- Arturia seemed to explode with light as the monster attacked, causing Noel to yelp and fall backwards onto her rear. She raised her hands above her head, hoping to fend off... whatever, but nothing happened. Peeking cautiously, she saw that older girl wearing something different. "...Huh? Wh-what just-" Noel began. Seithrarcusdiabolusbolverkmurakumounit"...Eh?" And suddenly, she changed. Enveloped in a pale blue light, her clothes seemed to rapidly change from her normal attire to Something decidedly not what she owned. Left blinking with confusion in the aftermath, it took Noel a moment to register she now had a strange looking staff in her hands, as well as a blue uniform. "...I... huh? Wha...? Wh-what's going on?!" Noel demanded to know, finding this recent turn of events to be quite distressing.

The fire washed over the horrendous blob of mud, which let out a hiss not unlike rapidly-boiling water. However, unlike what normal mud would do when exposed to enough heat, the thing wasn't baked. Instead, the entire thing caught fire, the fetid mass of mud now a burning mass of mud. It didn't seem to like this, if the gurgling and hissing was any indication, but it wasn't destroying it quickly enough, at any rate.
The mud folded in on itself, still burning, then lashed out blindly. Desks were knocked aside.
Kaguya stood up. The glowing in her pocket was not, in fact, an object. Her desire to help out had triggered... something. The glow expanded all at once, and her uniform, along with all her other articles of clothing, burst off her body in an instant. She was, needless to say, a bit surprised by this. Luckily, the light obscured her body, and then flowed backwards, composing... new clothes?
"I... I don't know what's happening, but just... stay behind me!" Arturia said, gripping the sword tightly. No, it wasn't just any sword... Excalibur. A legendary sword. A weapon to defeat this... hideous thing. The mud creature retracted its metal-tipped tendril with an ugly squelching sound. Arturia was ready. Immediately, it lashed out once more. Arturia swung Excalibur up in an instant.
There was a sound best described as 'wet', and the metal shard went tumbling to the ground, a squirming tendril of ooze attached to it. Upon hitting the ground, the ooze melted away, leaving only the metal behind.
A guttural gurgle came from the blob. Abruptly, a dozen more tendrils exploded from the surface of the mud creature, lashing out at the girls around it.
The gold-clad girl on the lamppost smiled. This was already looking to be entertaining...

Not fully understanding what she was doing, Aile raised the cannon-arm and opened fire on the tentacles, sending bolts of blue magic towards the creature.
Even as one of them wound its way around her ankle and hoisted her into the air, she kept firing.

Mokou resisted the extremely tempting option to turn Kaguya into a projectile and instead backed away from the desks. Well, it was certainly on fire, now, but that didn't appear to be stopping it. That left... one option for her. Grabbing a nearby chair, the white haired girl approached and slammed it into the flaming thing. Maybe Kaguya would stop glowing and HELP, now.
