(OOC: This is just a bit of fun using two characters me and Roxas use a lot. Also to help me get better at action scenes, I guess. So, um... Yeah.)
The samurai girl paced the dojo floor, shinai in hand, eyeing up her opponent. She wasn't entirely sure why the youkai had asked to spar with her, but she was more than happy to oblige. Not only that, but she could hardly refuse a request from one of her elders, even if Shujiko did look younger than her.
"This one shall grant you the opening strike," Ryuuzaki said, after bowing deeply. She raised her shinai and took on a strong stance, awaiting the youkai's first move. "When you are ready, Ishi-san."

Contrary to Ryuuzaki's pacing, Shujiko remained on the spot, hands curled into tight fists at her side. Excitement was practically radiating from the youkai, though she did a surprisingly good job keeping it in check. Humans weren't exactly the kind of people Shujiko would ask to spar with - they were naturally less... well, sturdy than youkai, and while Shujiko wouldn't claim to be someone powerful, she was still a youkai. And wasn't one to really give up on things. Ever.
But seeing as Ryuuzaki had proven herself to be capable of fighting youkai on even - okay, she had proven to be better than many youkai, Shujiko had decided to test herself against Ryuuzaki. Also, the samurai girl was really elegant in battle, and for some mysterious reason, Shujiko really liked that.
"If you're sure." Shujiko replied, also bowing. Having no training in any sort of martial art, Shujiko's battle stance was obviously rather sloppy. Not that it mattered such, since she was very good at reaction, and it wasn't like one wrong move ever left her on the ground that long. But she'd need to be careful against Ryuuzaki...
"Here I come, Ryuuzaki-san!" Shujiko cried, rushing forward. With a fist raised, she aimed a strike for her opponent. She pulled her punch, obviously, not wanting to injure the samurai in a mere sparring match. she was also very open.

The samurai gently closed her eyes as Shujiko approached her, the loose grip on her shinai tightening as she awaited the blow. And then, just as the youkai threw her punch, she effortlessly stepped to the side and sweeped the bamboo blade at her legs.
"Your stance is too open, Ishi-san. If you're going to come at me, come at me seriously."

With surprising swiftness, Shujiko dodged. Not by merely side-stepping, that'd be too boring and not exciting. Oh no, of course Shujiko had to practically swing her legs upward, sending the youkai into a backflip that slightly distanced her from the samurai. With an extra leap backward, Shujiko chuckled apologetically.
"Sorry, Ryuuzaki-san. I was just warming up!" She said with a nervous smile. She dropped once more into a sloppy stance. "Don't worry, I know not to take you lightly!"
While Shujiko's hair and eyes remained brown, her claim was no less true. She just hadn't fully set her heart on defeating Ryuuzaki. Coming at full force from the beginning would only make the match end that much quicker...
Moving quickly, Shujiko stepped forward and rotated, raising one leg in a roundhouse motion. Good thing she always wore shorts under her skirt, otherwise this would have been entirely off-limits.

"You make too many excessive movements, Ishi-san," Ryuuzaki calmly proclaimed, raising her shinai to parry the kick. "This one will easily anticipate all your attacks if you keep it up."
This was... Somewhat disappointing to the samurai, honestly. She'd been thrilled when she heard that Shujiko, not only one of her elders but a supposedly powerful youkai, had wanted to spar with her. She'd been expecting great things. Not only that, but she'd seen Shujiko fight. She knew she could do a lot better than this.
...Maybe it was time she went on the offensive.
The moment her shinai blocked the kick, she brought it sweeping down once more, again striking for Shujiko's leg. If the youkai tried to dodge, she would quickly bring it up once more and strike her chest.

"Sorry." Shujiko repeated, keeping her leg raised against the shinai. "Normally, I don't fight skilled opponents!"
Letting her leg drop Shujiko, Shujiko hopped back once more, but ended up taking a glancing blow from the shinai in the process. Shujiko ignored the hit, however, and prepared to strike. However, Ryuuzaki had already moved to strike again, and Shujiko barely twisted her body out of the way in time.
Close call... Shujiko thought, a small smile on her face. Had Shujiko been any normal opponent, she'd be writhing on the ground right now. Well, time to counter!
Once more twisting her body, Shujiko swung an arm, her fist aimed for Ryuuzaki's head once more. Not like Shujiko expected it to hit, but with any luck Ryuuzaki might leave herself open for a follow-up... yeah, not likely, but still.
