Covenant Academy Signups

Some minor details may change, but I figured that since I have most of this stuff down, I should post it now before I second guess any of it.

Covenant Academy, situated on a small island off the coast of Japan, is unique in that its students are all Contractors, people who have made pacts with beings from another world. The city has facilities to teach students from elementary school through to university and takes applicants from all corners of the world. Thanks to one of the staff's contract abilities, all students are able to communicate clearly with one another regardless of whether they know each other's languages.

The academy is more like a small city than a school, featuring shopping centers, restaurants, cinemas and anything else the students are likely to want or need. Most of the people working in these shops are current or former students of the academy.

Among the academy's many clubs and associations is the Covenant Academy Security Team. A group who use their abilities to investigate and deal with problems that arise within the school. These students are the only students authorised to use their contractor powers without a teacher's permission, and anyone else caught using theirs risks a hefty punishment. No one is sure what this punishment is exactly, though most aren't willing to risk finding out.

• People have no special powers, but can gain them by forming contracts with magical beings.
  
• There is no limit to the number of these contracts a person can make. However they carry a risk of injury, death or possession, so most people don't make them and those who do tend to stick to one or two.
  
• These powers increase in strength with time, use or compatibility between the contractor and the contracted being.
  
• Magical beings live in a separate world, however, they can be summonedto the human world. They are stronger this way than when they’re giving a contractor power, although this takes a lot of energy.
  
• A magical being can temporarily combine with its contractor, granting a strength boost that can, at times, equal or surpass the magical being’s power on its own. This isn’t as draining as summoning.

Contract(s): Satan, POSSIBLY Sariel (Hey, got to balance things out somehow. Also, the loli gets a literal manifestation of those split conscience angel things. >.> <.<)

Name: Satan, more names here, and Lord of the Flies is also applicable. Prefers Lucifer because at least that has a meaning fitting with what he is. Not so pleased about being called Lucy all the time.
Type: Fallen Angel/Demon/Man of Wealth and Taste
Powers: Healing. Yes, that's right, she got healing off of the guy, though it's more of a rapid acceleration of natural healing with the contract as it stands. Well, he is a being of light and good... just not so much the 'good' part any more. Includes minor regenerative properties.
Personality: Sardonic, self-righteous, and very bored with reality. He's (probably--hard to say if Satan here even has a sex) experienced everything from the best to the worst the world has to offer, and is simply trying to find a new and exciting way to pass the time. That this means loaning out his abilities to a child that has no idea of what's on offer is pretty much a footnote in the long tale of his life.

Summon: The man, not the horse. Retains the ability to heal, along with the following: shapeshifting (though it's somewhat limited--if he wants to get BIGGER, guess who'll be footing the bill?), laser beams, and the cheery ability to enter people's dreams.

Humans:
Name: Roland Wright

Age: 16 most of the time

Appearance: Most of the time Roland has messy black hair that tangles up and falls over at least one of if not both of his brown eyes. Roland is usually around 5'4" in height and ridiculously pale due to his powers making it more than a little difficult for him to get a tan.

Personality: Roland is a huge fan of anime and video-games of multiple genres ever since he was little. This has an unusual effect on his worldview, as these days he sees himself as the protagonist of his own story, causing him to try and act like a hot-blooded and "cool" hero.

Even though he's somewhat delusional Roland really does work hard to protect Covenant Academy and its residents and sees each and every one of the people he knows as characters with an important role to play, striving for a "Best Ending" where people can live in happiness and peace.

Brief Backstory: Roland contracted with a Phoenix at a young age thinking that it would help him become a hero! Instead his contract mainly got him into trouble when his attempts to "defend the weak" from bullies got local parents up in arms against him and slapped him with a label as a budding juvenile delinquent. Hoping that being around other people like him would help keep him out of trouble, Roland's parents shipped him off to Covenant Academy, where he's been ever since the start of middle school. Luckily he's been able to properly try and defend others since, earning him a place on the Covenant Academy Security Team

Contracted Beings:

Type: A western-style Phoenix

Powers: The primary power Roland gained from contracting with the Phoenix was the ability to magically generate and manipulate flames and their heat. This also comes with a secondary power of being almost totally immune to damage from heat and flame, or at least to the extent of not burning himself via proximity. The actual secondary power granted to Roland by the Phoenix contract is Rejuvination, in that he can heal himself of just about anything up to mortal injuries, but doing so reverts him to an 8-year-old form temporarily. While in this state his flame powers are greatly diminished and he is unable to heal again until he re-ages.

Personality: (self-explanatory)

Fusion: Roland's hair becomes a fiery red, yellow and orange color reminiscent of flames, with spike-filled styling to match. His eyes also become reddish colored and he gains the ability to generate flaming wings from his back that let him fly at high speeds. His flames also become much more powerful. However while in this state he loses access to his healing abilities.

Summon: Like a big bird of prey. Made of fire. The Phoenix is about the size of a Philippine or Harpy Eagle and can generally hurtle around like a feather-y fireball with talons attached. It can also heal others or itself of major injuries at which point it becomes something a lot closer to this and vanishes soon after

Name: Tomoe Sakura
Age: 16
Appearance: "Oh, hello there, would you like to play a game?
Personality: Sakura is a pleasant, if sometimes teasing, girl with a penchant for games. Games of all sorts, really. She enjoys video games, card games, and board games equally. She tends towards being polite, unless she's decided to tease someone. Teasing is, however, generally a sign that she likes a person. She avoids being too harsh when she teases, and all her kidding around is very good-natured. Actual anger is marked by very direct and sharp, angry comments, or silence. Basically, if she's teasing someone, she's not angry with them in the slightest.

Name: Artemis
Type: Goddess
Powers: Sakura gains excellent eyesight, increased endurance and reflexes, and excellent marksmanship.
Personality: Artemis is serious-minded and calm... most of the time. She is prone to making biting, sarcastic comments to those she perceives as idiots, and has little to no tolerance for stupidity or fooling around. She takes a great deal of pride in her abilities as an archer and a hunter, and sometimes boasts that she has perfect aim. Which isn't really a boast, as her aim is beyond fantastic. Enough irritation will drive Artemis to yell and insult the source, berating them rather relentlessly. She does show softness towards young girls... provided they don't act stupid, too. She is extremely, absurdly protective of Sakura, holding Sakura's protection as an important duty of hers.

Summon: "Four targets...?"
Artemis is divinely strong. But she is weak by comparison to other gods, instead relying on agility and speed(also to divine levels, though she is not the fastest deity). However, her real abilities lie in what she can do with her bow and arrows. Curving arrows, firing them through walls, rapid-firing them, aim so impossibly near perfect that she nearly always hits her target unless they have abilities to match her own, firing dozens of arrows at once, Artemis is a master of archery. She is also capable of, oddly, turning men into young girls. The latter of these abilities is not something she's going to use pretty much ever.

Name: Akane Koizumi

Age: 16

Appearance: Here.

Personality: Akane is shy around people she doesn't know, and though she livens up a bit around friends, she's still fairly quiet. She is a fan of anime and manga, as well as shows such as Kamen Rider. She has a strong sense of justice and doesn't like seeing people suffer, which is part of what led to her contracting in the first place. She is also somewhat of a pervert, although she tries to be subtle about it.

Brief Backstory: Akane contracted with a Bakeneko at the age of eleven, as she wanted to use its powers to help people. Unfortunately, at the time, she couldn't manage much besides a couple of small fireballs before getting exhausted. Her parents, having heard about what their daughter had done and why she'd done it, decided to send her to Covenant Academy, where she was less likely to accidentally injure someone.

Name: Momoko

Type: Bakeneko

Personality: Momoko tends to be rather hammy and loud, in contrast to the far more reserved Akane. She has a tendency to skip over attempts to talk problems through with opponents, preferring to save that for after there's no chance of them trying to attack her. Similar to Akane, Momoko is somewhat of a pervert, however she is far more overt about this and, in the presence of an onsen, swimming pool or anything else likely to involve naked/scantily clad girls, is likely to bug to convince Akane to fuse, regardless of whether or not there's any danger around.

Powers: Contracting with Momoko granted Akane slightly enhanced strength and durability compared to a normal human, though she is still weaker than someone whose contracted being has strength or toughness as specific abilities. She is also capable of conjuring fireballs, which she launches towards her targets with a throwing motion. These fireballs are usually roughly the size of a baseball. She can create larger ones, though the increased energy usage means she'll be exhausted faster. Finally, she's highly resistant to most poisons.

Fusion: "I...have arrived!" In their fused form, Akane becomes capable of generating more, larger fireballs and can jump far higher than should be humanly possible. Also, while she is unable to change her physical appearance, she can change the appearance of her clothes through the bakeneko's shapeshifting powers.

Summon: A large cat with orange fur, roughly the size of an adult tiger. In this form, Momoko is capable of creating larger fireballs than when Akane's using her power and in greater numbers. She is also capable of limited flight, eating anything regardless of whether it should be possible (although she's still constrained by what she can fit in her mouth) and shapeshifting into a form that resembles her and Akane's fused form. In this form, Momoko's effectively immune to almost any poison, regardless of whether it's mundane or magical.

Name: Akatsuki Miho
Age: 16

Personality: Miho is a bubbly if somewhat ditzy girl that tries to make friends with people who are interesting. Most of the time she is laid back and has a somewhat whimsical attitude, much like a child with a short attention span. She is rather prone to being lazy, and needs some prodding to finish things that she started. She's slightly mischievous, occasionally trying to tease people so they could act tsundere and thus become viable targets for glompage and snuggling.
Brief Backstory: Miho is a girl that likes to become enamored with things, having been a martial artist, a gymnast, a musician, an artist, and a chef. Unfortunately because she got bored halfway through, she never quite became a master of her crafts but instead picked up bits and pieces here and there. Just about the only thing she hasn't given up on was being a summoner, since she quite liked hanging out with the affable divine being who continues to teach her many things. She now resides in Covenant Academy, continuing to do things in a whimsical manner with her mentor at her side.

Contracted Beings: Sun Wukong

Name: Sun Wukong
Type: Stone Monkey Demon Sage Buddha of War
Powers: Sun Wukong is very powerful in close range combat and possesses strong resistance to both bladed weapons and elemental magics. He is somewhat proficient in summoning copies of himself, calling in lesser spirits, transformation, illusions, and beast-taming. He can flash step and his heavenly iron rod is nigh indestructable with the added ability of shifting size. Oh, and it's extremely heavy.
Personality: Sun Wukong used to be a rather unruly person in the past, churning up Heaven and Earth before being sealed and forced into a journey of repentance. After absolving himself of his sins and ascending to a higher plane of existence, Sun Wukong acts much like a laid back old uncle that is usually the favorite of the children.
Fusion: Swinging into action! Miho's fusion form is much weaker than Sun Wukong's inherent abilities, though it's still on a higher level of existence than even a regular human body at peak physical condition- giving the girl extreme endurance and stamina as well as a fair bit of power and dexterity. Unlike Sun Wukong, she can't use much of his more sagely techniques though she's skilled at close combat and is very acrobatic due to having the Monkey King's abilities supplementing her own gymnastics skill.
