Being incapable of effecting the plot? GASP! I never could have seen this comi- yeah okay, even ICly Joe expects that to be the status quo of the universe. Not being able to do anything meaningful until the designated moment is nothing surprising or upsetting to me. A large part of why my intentions are to play Support Lantern. Just having a fun ride playing superhero and helping people as things turn up.
PREVENT Masters and Shocker Boss's plans from succeeding? Riiiiight. That'll happen.
Lotus Eater Machines can eat a dick made of dynamite though. Expect X-Com brand Psi-Shields.

*sigh* You do know the plan was not to have you involved in that anyway? Pleasant to know, but it would have been hard to tell if you hadn't just said. The Discussion thread details amount to "How do we keep people in Gotham from making progress too fast, instead of just asking?" "Gotham Villain uses Lotus Eater Machine." So from what little of the plan I could see, it sounded like being a player in Gotham was the sole qualification for being slapped with helpless character padding made easy button. Me and Designated Mind Rape For Making The Narrative's Life Easy, is kind of a THING. Even if I have the chance to have it pass me by personally for once, it's always just kind of a mess to see put to use on anyone. |

Lotus thing is just for Jenny. It wasn't ever for all exactly because a lot of people do not want it on them.
Also you are not part of the group that is threatening to steamroll everything.

Lotus thing is just for Jenny. It wasn't ever for all exactly because a lot of people do not want it on them. Also you are not part of the group that is threatening to steamroll everything. Should I take it as a sign of trust that you know the Green Lantern player won't try to derail things, or a sign that Green Lantern powers might as well be a cracker jacks prize plastic magnifying glass compared to 90% of the cast? It's totally the trust one, right? |

Both.
There is trust in there, yes.
But GL powers also do not reach the level of power of the people that are the reason to seriously worry. (There are only a couple of those, though. Not "90%".)
For example, somebody's first response to possibility Darkseid showing up was "sure, I can kill him".

Had a feeling, but I'm happy with the Utility of what I got at the very least even if I'm not bragging about past exploits of reality altering, planet busting, and etcetera. Even discounting original gag plan of "I can only make punch happen", Lantern gig means I can go all ACME catalog on things for personal entertainment value.
When it comes to Darkseid, my reaction is "Sure, I can survive Aimbotting Omega Beams." as opposed to ass kicking. But sometimes annoying people is the best weapon.
Or so I tell myself.

It was brought up that having Darkseid show up would be a good opportunity to April to use Ea, since I'm pretty sure nothing else could kill him at all.
You know, the weapon that won't be used anywhere else because of how incredibly powerful it is. The reaction wasn't "sure, I can kill him"(for one thing we never got a chance to really discuss it with Rain before it turned out he definitely wouldn't be showing up).
So, no-one said "sure, I can kill him".

Ah. I'm in the lucky/unlucky position that Flanker doesn't really need to prepare anything - the Biometals pretty much whip up everything he needs as soon as he uses them. Quite handy, that. On the flipside, though, that means he's relying solely on them to keep him safe so if something happens he's proper fucked (young man + weak upper body - awesome armour and powers = total curbstomp).

No one talked with you, so don't worry. You should be able to interact with Joe and Toph, who are talking near the getaway van. |
