The whether or not the signups are actually open is up to Psyga. Now checking the signup... The default good-aligned take-all faction is The Brotherhood. - So Joe wrote, with only "Green Lantern is always punching things", "Short Guy Hate Colors", "My first hangover someone end it all" to guide him.
The good news, Joe's Hangover has worn off. The bad news, he's woken up far and beyond the average distance of "nearest gutter". The still in judgment news, a mockery of a Lantern Ring is in his possession.
- Chosen Power/Tech:
Defective Lantern Ring; This transparent Lantern ring has the color code symbol worn off. It mostly works.
Ring Pros: Flight, Barriers, Costumes (Thankfully opaque, except when the slapstick gods demand we see his boxers). No charging, no color coded weakness.
Ring Cons: It's stuck on Punch. You know that whole "Infinite possibilities, but he's always making a big fist" joke? Yeah, the ring can only form hands of varying size for offense.
I don't think that's quite how it works. The universes are all established things. Getting power from a fanfic would be questionable. Getting power from a fanfic the character just wrote is waaay out. Why not just a normal ring anyway? |

Getting power from a fanfic the character just wrote is waaay out. Why not just a normal ring anyway? Ah, sorry. I was told first timers were "Self Insert" OCs and such so I figured I'd run with it. Considering any Self Insert IS fanfiction (so far as drunken scribbles would have counted in Joe's case, and I suspect Canon has been beaten over the head into an unrecognizable state in Game without me. BUT, I get that you mean "had to come from what is canon in the first place"). As for why not a normal ring, I was trying to work out a "Has uses, but missed out on the comically overpowered club" gimmick and it just seemed like an amusing idea at the time. You know, figured I'd work my way UP to over the top considering I was new and all. I'll save any further words and thread space on the matter once I know if I even CAN end up in the game. For now though, seeing the sun reminds me I should sleep. |

Hmm... well, the self inserts all pretty much start off with canon powers.
And there's not really much time to get from bottom to top in this season, we're near the end... XD

Well, technology is also part of some of our guys repertoire, (I.E. My character has the Zero Sluggers/two boomerrang like sabers) so the ring won't be that much of an offset.
So I guess accepted.

He is a selfinsert on the level on the game. That's what he should be.
The ring is a selfinsert on the deeper level. Like a within universe or something. That's what doesn't quite fit.
You have SI char with "SI" power, while it should be SI character with canon power from somewhere.

Well right now you don't really have time for that working to the top considering that we're nearing endgame.
By season 2, the new ring would be just fine: it's supposed to be lower degree powers AND Brotherhood will actually have a place to produce it wholecloth.
You could go something like have a normal GL ring now, then during the timeskip (if you'd be playing the same character after in-game 20 years) you can end up breaking it somehow and end up fixed into that transparent version.

Yeah, App format on the first page said "Chosen Power/Tech" so assumptions and all that. Plus would be hard to have all those Sentai chaps around without their robots and henshin devices.
Oh no! I have to fix my application by... making my guy stronger... Huh. That's a pleasant twist. Though with the heads up about the nature of Season 2 upcoming, looks like if I don't follow the suggestion to use original idea then, I'll have to think of something else OC wise. I'm... Not very good with using canon characters. Unless I basically have a blank slate to work with (Oh, Unit #127. What fun times we had, with all those limbs in your Mutant Football League Duffel Bag).

With normal Lantern Ring, he'll still be limited by imagination and willpower so as not to go overboard. It'll just make more sense for the established crossover-verse and the impact of powering up doesn't necessary be all that big.
You don't have to use any actual canon characters. You can, but do not have to. You can make a whole bunch of OCs if you want or run the gamut of canons after your first or any mix - your choice.
Good luck on that binge, don't get confused with the tons of characters being spread around a dozen of places.

Also...are we still going with the memories and stuff of the orignal is with the character? Cause I've got some fun ideas with that.

Yeah, we're sort of going with a "depending on the writer" aspect. Nicholas has an interpretation of Alexander's shard inside him, and he's pretty much an Imagin, possessing Nicholas and freely talking to him mentally, while someone else went with the memories and stuff from Roy Mustang.
Originally, it was memories that facilitated the powers, such as lessons they've learned or tricks and skills they gained. But then it translated to 'time capsule' for most people, so we went with that.
S2 Shards will be a little more basic and general. Giving you the skills, while at the same time giving you the person to talk to without it taking over your body.
In short: The shards are mostly in the "do what you want" department now.
